No the Passat, Touareg, and the Phaeton are RWD.

They are not based on the current MkV platform. They are based on the B6 platform.

Talking about new Passats? I should have been more clear... my wife's '02 passat is front wheel drive.

hmm. looks interesting. it looks like a good first attempt at a pickup, much better than the Ridgeline. wonder if it'll come in a diesel powered form?

Not anymore... The VW Taro (Rebadged Toyota Hilux) was only made from 1984 to 1996. The closest thing that VW has to a truck now is the VW Caddy (front wheel drive) that is not nearly as capable.

AWD truck? No, I'm good. And depends on where it's made. If it's made in Mexico like the Golfs, fuck it, they can keep it. There's a reason VW's entry level cars have crap reputation for longevity.

The Passats and Phaetons are made in Germany. That's why they kick ass. (Although they are just rebadged Audi's...or vice versa.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
In my book it has to have a bed to be a truck! Not the uni-body crap that everyone wants to call a truck!
