Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

From what I understand, this 04B04 2.0 release was just a test case. Maybe, OVT wanted feedback on certain features, up to and including PI/DI changes.

If OVT restored the factory PI/DI parameters in the final release of 2.0, others could utilize VF to change them to their liking.

That could put this 'Charley Foxtrot' to bed.

 

I’m just saying its something easy to check (5 seconds with a mutlimeter).

Otherwise, log startup with TS and send to zendesk. Thats the only way mat will be able to see if there’s actually an issue.

 

Would we be able to edit each of the 3 individual maps? (D, S mode, ECT) using VfTuner?

 

Or keep it how it is since most people don't have a problem with it, then the few that do can change it.

And its only been a little over a month - march 8 2020.

 

Some posts back I did say the purpose was for review.
A few small changes need to be done, and we can move forward with release for all.

 

Voltage is sitting at 11.9v. Disclaimer it’s the stock battery from 12/15 and has 95k miles.

if someone could point me in the direction of how to datalog where I can actually see the graph and how to save the info then I can send it in. And please don’t send the link from the MT thread with the shitty ipotato pics.

 

@OVTune, should we flash back to a different tune until you “Modify the cold start controls”?

 

Please stop trying to sway Mat into changing the DI/PI.

It sounds like there may be an issue with that on start up but that’s it, and he has already said he will fix the cold start issue.

I do not want my truck to drive like it does stock. I want it to drive the way Mat thinks it should personally. We’ve went through all this before which is why VF tuner is here now. I want Mats tune, not some user influenced tune again. So use VF tuner if you disagree with Mat. Simple as that. I want what he thinks is best for 2.0, not any of you guys hahaha

 

My stock battery literally died 3 days ago. Got a fresh Interstate AGM 36 battery (720 CCA) from Costco for $165, it has made the start up of the truck the fastest I have ever seen...more of a kick on then a turn over

Well said. We’ve been through the community Influenced tune before. Ill take 100% mats tune no contest.

 

Not true, this was a release to a single ECU (2017), with a small number of users who could still actually flash their ECU.

 

I replaced mine a while back (proactively before it died). Truck starts noticeably better with my 27f agm

 

Mine as well.

 

2016 & 2017 trucks. Just need to apply the TSB. I wouldn’t consider that a small user base.

the day i flashed the tune, it did the same thing on the first startup, and the conditions/weather were the same. once the truck gets warmed up, it does NOT have the hiccup.
