I’d also be interested in the black v2. Not sure size though

so I dont drive but 5 miles daily and a couple weeks ago I drove 4-5 hr round trip and as the trip got longer it became uncomfortable (iirc it was lower back not sure legs). Is this what people were experiencing and these spacers helped?

Spacers have made it more comfortable for my lower back. Used 1" for a while, which was better than none. Then moved up to 1.5", and it was better than 1".

I'd like to try 2", but I assume there's a safety reason no one makes them that high.

For me, it's not really about height, it's about evening out the slope of the seat cusion. I suppose I should go to a reupholster as has been suggested here.

I think I’ll go with v1 since you can add an extension if needed… first I need to justify this to myself because it’s not cheap and I’m still unsure if this will make driving long hauls more comfortable. I mainly drive 10less a day and don’t have any problems- it’s just on the occasional blue moon drives over an hr or 2

Any all weather mats that don’t go over the rear plastic piece covering the rear seat bolts? Not having the mats sit flush anymore with weather techs is gonna drive me insane later on

Trim the mat to clear the trim piece. You won't lose any protection from water.

Is this a common mod? I’ve never heard about tilting the seat forward in a Tacoma. Does it make the seat position more comfortable? I’m genuinely intrigued because I’ve always thought the Tacoma had a less than ideal seating position.

This sparked my curiosity so I ended up picking up some bolts and washers to try out spacing the back of the seat up a little higher. It definitely is a much better seating angle! This is another one of those things that I had no idea existed and had no idea that I needed!

Can you put me down for 2 pairs of the V2 1” spacers please? No TRD machining. Thanks!

I might do this as a way to simply gain some clearance for an amp on the passenger side and a little more space for the gun box on drive side. :spy:

@tonered so if I was to test with washers rather than gamble starting with 1” do I need a longer bolt or will stock be just enough? Do you happen to remember the size washer etc? At first I was interested in v2 but after thinking about it v1 seems more solid and the fact you can add extensions whereas v2 is no extensions.

it also looks like the only rear mats that don’t cover the rear bolt/trim is the OEM weather- I don’t have any desire to cut up a mat to fit so if there are other options that work, I’m all ears

You will definitely need longer bolts to match the additional spacer length. If you get flanged bolts like the OEM, you don't need washers.

The V1s and V2s are equally solid, but you are correct about the extension situation.

I only have the Toyota mats and am happy enough with them, esp since I added snaps to the passenger side.

If I had other brands, I probably would not mind them being raised up a bit. But, that is all personal preference.

So new bolts on stack of washers

but that second sentence is only valid with having a spacer, correct? Maybe I just confused myself but I’m wanting to try and test what height I should get (1” or 1.5”) With just a stack of washers starting at 1” and ride for awhile and compare to 1.5” stack of washers. That way I can get my preferred size right off the bat

I think I got confused there. Any 10mm or so ID washers will help you test.

On one side, it is open to the ground, so any length bolt can be used. On the other, it is closed. I would guess that you could test with 1.5in longer bolts with no problem, but you might want to probe that depth just so you don't rupture through.

You probably haven't checked the first post in a while, but I include bolts with the V1's now.

I also only have one pair remaining.

Okay, officially sold out of spacers now, but still left with a few pair extensions if anybody needs those.
