    I've run K &N 63 series on 2 tacomas. I noticed increased power and gas mileage both times and love them.

    As for "gunk on the MAF," I've inspected the MAF and never noticed any oil on them.

    That's my 2 cents.

    Anyone who drives automatic transmission is going to have unreliable information about power increases, since they cannot go wide open throttle anywhere in the power band.

    K&N is a contained air box in my opinion. It has side walls and the top wall is the hood, with rubber hoses forming that seal once the hood is shut. Just my opinion after having run these for years.

    I had the same on my ranger, it made a big difference, just not with mpgs. Never issues with MAF or anything like that. Had k&n for 7 years on that truck, still drove like new.
