I absolutely love the look of a custom taco but can’t help to think reliability goes down and maintenance goes up. I have nothing against making your truck bad ass in any way but part of me feels like it’s a bad idea in the long run. What are your thoughts?

Nope, never. My truck is better today then anything coming off the assembly line.

I am happy with mine at the moment but I still have a number of things to do. I don't regret what I've done, I like making this truck my own and modding it can be fun as well as a way to learn my truck so I can work on it myself. I am still on the fence about doing the suspension and ECGS needle bearing fix on my own since I lack the tools and extra set of hands to do it but I might later this summer.

Not the slightest just wish I had the same insight then when I started modding.

Nope. There's a reason that with less than 100 miles on my truck I had already done Kings, wheels, tires, bumper, winch, stripped badges, etc. I want this truck to be something I want, none of my vehicles stay stock. I've never had any problems with reliability...yes I do maintain my vehicles no matter what aftermarket mods are done to it.

There are definitely things that are on the truck to keep the price down and not because of reliability. I realized that as I worked on my truck.

That's the truth, I went wheeling just around a lake and front end got knocked out of alignment, and rear hanger bent. Tocoma World has helped me 100% build a much better truck with all of the reliability of a brand new truck. These trucks were built for us to mod them.

Depends on what you mod. I daily mine so I don’t mess with anything that’s mission critical.

I do... My truck is as expensive as a Ranger Rover velar and I don't feel like stopping... It's like an addiction. lol
In honesty, most of the stuff I am upgrading to are beefier and more reliable in my opinion as long as you do your research.

This is like asking the guy with a set of sleeves, neck, and chest whether you should get a tattoo.

You should totally get a tattoo.

Same!! I try to be tasteful and put a lot of planning into what i do to my vehicles.. they get serviced and babied and as i get older they get driven easier and easier.. I’ve never owned a vehicle that didn’t at least have tint and a system installed.. most had a lot more..

No, don't regret anything. I can't get into some parking garages. My MPG is pretty much an LOL.
She Who Must Be Obeyed gets a case of the ass from time to time about it, and says I "used to have a nice truck."
But every time I have somebody run up at a gas station or a store or in a parking lot or garage and asks about my truck (especially the guys that wait around for me to come back out) and she's with me I love my truck even more. And I tell her she's just jealous because nobody looks twice at her Rav4.
Everything I have done serves a purpose, and has some utility, just about. Very little serves a cosmetic purpose alone. And I daily mine. I didn't buy it to eventually sell it, so resale value is irrelevant to me. I got my truck to do what I want. And it is succeeding in that regard wholesale.

My only regret is getting a bilstein lift and not going full bore with a whole setup. The bilsteins ride nice but I’m already looking to upgrade. I should of just waited and saved up. Ohhhh well

Bilstein makes really good stuff. Don’t rag on them. They make shocks for all budgets.
