Thought I'd post a pic of the "finished" rack. Still gonna play with the front to back placement to try to get the camper rack level with the cab. But overall came out really nice

 

I pulled an OEM roof rack off a late 90’s 4RUNNER at a junk yard and installed it on my shell. There are several DIY videos on YouTube. (I don’t kayak, just picked this up for a friend, but it shows rack usage)

 

great job with that! The topper rack really finishes it off.

 

Thanks! Pretty cool to think it came from something I drew up on a computer to ending up on the truck. Especially since I've been wanting to do this for about 2 years now.

 

I'm looking to add a roof rack to my truck to eventually carry a kayak (about 40lbs). As much as I'd like an expensive ARB or Baja, I really will only use it for oversized items like a yak. I have been looking for factory ones and found this page. I just want to make sure I'm not getting something crappy.

You’re in the first gen section bud. However, I’m sure that rack would be fine for your 2014.
