Nah, I was dreaming of a one transfer case, single stick or multi-stick in the same row or *GASP* some electronic actuators doing the work because I'm not afraid of electronics. I know this part is dreaming even more, but then I wouldn't have to adjust driveshaft lengths, mess with moving/adding crossmembers, etc.

Anyway, this isn't a reality, so we can move on.

Attempting to diagnose a bad e-brake. I can engage the brake but then it sticks on. The cable appears to be frozen in place somewhere in front of the rear diff (inside of the sealed tubing). Anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this? I can pretty easily get down behind the diff and pull the cable in order to release tension on the brakes so it can't be stuck too bad, but it won't release with the handle.

Only for trail gear. An inchworm doesn't really make them for them they were bought out. Marlins product is entirely their own

Check the bell cranks at each wheel. Common for them to get sticky.

You can swap the gear ratios in the land cruiser gear driven cases, I thought about getting the 4.8:1 set for mine. But yeah, most of these reduction sets are planetary, not just helical cut cogs, so they're not Uber strong and they generate heat and noise. Be hard to make a case that wasn't the size of a manual trans that avoided those issues

@Blackdawg a while back you mentioned you’d like a spring under kit for your single cab so you can sit about stock height but get the benefits of SUA. Maybe this is a way to make this happen. Just need to see if Deaver will design a lead pack. Last time I spoke to them they said they wouldn’t do it.

Any additional details on this? Is the bole pictured (on each side) the only modification necessary to do the swap?

Is easy, you'll be fine. Hardest part is cleaning everything to put it back together

Yeah, I think I've done a decent job of putting bolts back in their holes, and the wiring usually just falls back into place.

Now if I could find my 12mm socket that I dropped, I'll be set.

I actually did stuff to my Taco today, greased the driveshaft for the first time since who knows when... Maybe never, who can say. I've only had it for 6 months. Charged the AC too, it had a bit but only enough to kick the compressor on, not enough to actually get cold air. Works good now, we will see if it lasts.

I charged mine about a year ago, and it seems to be ok, but I know the valve in the dash leaks. :(

Not much work honestly, I used a level and a buddy's eye to visually mark the holes for the headlight adjusters. Then I drilled and filed square. Used a ball peen hammer to angle the headlight adjusters straight and level. Went to ace and matched up springs with some 1987 pickup springs to secure the headlight assembly to any close by lip corner of rad support. Snapped the grill on and my headlight plugs went right in. Also ordered the inserts for the corner lights which the 99 fenders had already drilled square and popped right in. Installed corner lights and aimed headlights straight. Here are some more pics.

Yeah unfortunately the expansion valves are a known weak point, my last two tacos had bad ones. If this one is too then I will replace it, it's not that bad of a job actually. But I'm hopeful, I used the stuff with tons of stop leak because in the AC system it doesn't matter, can only help and replacing parts to solve a leak that takes a couple years to affect it isn't worth it in my mind.

Yeah, that's fair. I feel like if I'm going through the trouble of evacuating it, I may as well take it apart and replace some orings while I'm at it, but that's a much bigger job.

Nice work. Got any pics of how the headlights line up with the grill? @Madjik_Man did a similar swap a few years ago and noticed a slight gap between the two, was just curious if you saw the same thing.
