Okay ended up bringing my Realtor with me as well to address few odds and ends. I also brought a bubble level so I can document what I see. My initial offer to negotiate are:

    • Repair the crack and give me a warranty for 1yr since concrete in the drive way and garage is not covered
    • Replace the slab
    • Repair the crack and take 5-7k out of selling price (thinking that's how much would it cost to replace)

Are there any other options you would have asked for that I didn't think of? I will find out more hopefully this week what they come up with...

Apparently my company was approved AND received funds from the PPP, but we are actually a small company (6 people).

You have to use at least 75% of it for payroll costs, and maintain a similar number of employees to get it forgiven.

I'm currently working with many business that are using this to keep regular people paid.

    And? They're returning it.

Rules we're definitely unclear at the beginning of who qualifies, but I do get you point that they are not a small business.

What if the used it to keep minimum wage workers employed?

I'm pretty hands off libertarian leaning when it comes to influencing the economy. I hate that the fed influences the interest rate based on anything but the market and inflating the market of the future for a dollar today is unwise especially for those working minimum wage.

Possibly. I get paid well under market rate, so I wouldn't be surprised if all the accounted for money ended up in the company's bank account in the end...

What happens if I were to depart the company on my own? Does that affect things with the forgiveness terms or is it just about layoffs/firings?

I am curious how they are going to track that on the flip side when it comes to forgiveness and if anyone has thought about that. Perhaps shake shack has. If you are fully funded for payroll, rent and debt right now and then and you took out the loan, I am questioning your ethics.

Edit: quoted the wrong post...meant to quote the the one regarding 75%.

I spoke to a semi small business owner last night that had gotten one of the govt loans and ended up sending three people that had been layed off back to work just to clean until they opened. One of the clauses was that all of his employees could not be on unemployment.

I'm not trying to get into the political side of the discussion as it has already happened, my point was there are rules to (hopefully) prevent people from using if for things other than paying employees.

As far as I know it's only based on a count of full-time-equivalent employees. If you quit, it will affect that count. If you have less employees than you had last year but more than 75%, your forgiveness amount will be reduced. I.E. 80% EE count = 80% forgiveness.

The applications required average monthly payroll cost and employee count. Obviously you will need that info for the current payroll, with backup, to get it forgiven. That being said, there's nothing as far as I know to prevent people who would have otherwise been operating as normal to take a loan and say it was used for payroll.
