I agree, I won’t be jumping at the chance. Not enough quality information yet.

yeah if given the choice I’ll wait it out a few years and see if there’s any shenanigans. Not only that, everything is so rushed. I work in quality assurance I’ve seen what happens when things get rushed.

sum bitch if I waited with my 3 bid I would have been in by now.

filled ETN and F though. Only a few shares each nothing spectacular. Glad I avoided that k1 shenanigans for now until I know more about it and filing my own taxes :D

I wouldn't be surprised if USO went belly up if oil futures in June go negative as well.

on the brightside for todays market I locked in a realized gain of +71% on shorting oil which makes up for the rest of my portfolio dropping -3% today. Felt like playing with fire, not sure how day traders do it.

Yea, it hit my sell limit while I was out of the house, came back home to extra cash. Now looking at buying back in and hoping for something similar tomorrow.

Mind if I ask what the in and out was? I've never shorted before.

This is a way to short the market (without actually borrowing shares, selling them, buying them back, and returning them). It's an inverse ETF, so to short, you just buy it when you think it's high, then sell when you think it has reached its bottom.

Edit: Since it's inverse ETF, the share price will go the opposite way of the underlying assets. I am not sure if my original post made sense.

Bought in at a cost avg of 33 over friday and monday and sold today at 64. Never shorted before either but I wanted to try since I knew oil was in bad shape from this shutdown.

Edit: I looked at this as an easy way to short the market without having to learn options trading lol

If anyone wants to read something kind of long (10 minute read), and get a different perspective, check out this article. The main part that I founded interesting is the explanation of how sentiment, which controls the market (most people would agree with this), actually controls fundamentals on a lagging basis. I can’t explain it all here, but it is a legitimate theory.

The op thinks May is the month to invest in oil, based on storage/demand issues.

    I'm only on 52/276.
