Cement Tacos let's see them!

Picked up this in Tennessee about month ago. 2 previous owners and 32k miles. I have found evidence of add ons (side steps, clamp on roof rack bars, bed extender and potentially a tonneau or shell) but all removed before I purchased it. If anyone recognizes it, I would love to know more about the previous life it has lived.

 

Did you do the black overlay “Tacoma” on the tailgate yourself?

 

Two months to the day after I ordered it. Picked it up yesterday. Really looking forward to personalizing it!

Finally picked up my 2020 Cement DCSB SR5 yesterday. TRD exhaust (sounds great!), Predator bars, leather (Katzkin), and black overlays. Buying bumper covers next.

What should I do next?

 

Truck looks GREAT! If you're planning to get rid of the chrome, you could try to get a black surround from an SR grille. A bed mat is one of the best things I got for my trucks. No more worrying about stuff sliding around in that slick composite bed. You could add LED interior lights, swap the fogs for some Morimoto LED projector fogs, mudguards are an easy mod that'll help prevent rock chips, and I think the 2020s are pre-wired for the LED bed lights. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that anything from MESO Customs is Tacomaworld approved lol.

Get yourself an OEM bed mat. Not only looks good, but very functional. Keeps stuff in place.

 

Drove around to get out of the house, got some pictures since I saw a few cool places to get some shots (Look at that shine!)

Many many people have these mats and I've not heard a report of theft. Not saying it hasn't or won't happen, it's just not that much worry. These things are pretty heavy and takes a bit of doing to carry one. I've had one in three Tacomas; 2012, 2018 and 2019 along with an unsecured storage box. None have been messed with. Maybe I just live in a low theft area.

 

This is a long shot but does anyone know where I may find a pic of the cement truck with a black scoopless hood?

 

Agreed. They’re inexpensive. The risk of theft is low. They’re hard to carry/move around. Not the type of thing people are looking to steal and put up on Craigslist. And a fellow Tacoma owner *probably* isn’t gonna steal it. Roll the dice on this one. They’re very nice to have.

 

I have a 3’x4’x3/4” thick anti fatigue mat in my bed. It is heavy and will not blow out of the bed even while driving 85mph. I got it on sale at Northern Tools for $20. It works great.
