04B04 2017 DCSBOR 3.5 AT stock tires on 2.0f 87 OL for test and review. This is the one and only OVTune that is an improvement over 04B04 stock for me, so far. Hiccup on cold start, but no drivability issues at all. 3-4 is not in 1 second anymore. 1-2 and 2-3 come quicker, but leave that time for a more normal 3-4. 4-5 can be early on really low throttle, but it will downshift right away if I press the gas now. Didn't do that on any other OVTunes tunes for me. I don't think I've hit 6th gear yet on 2.0, but all my driving has been under 60mph so far and that is ok. Light, moderate, heavy throttle all seem to behave appropriately now. I do have the cold start hiccup thing but it also finds a nice low idle quickly. Like one free and unwelcome spin of the flywheel in the middle of an otherwise normal start. Not a big deal. Acceleration from any rpm/load combo seems to get to the right gear and do what it needs to do to accelerate instead of just puke, piss then eventually go into 3rd gear rpm anarchy for a few seconds and threaten to implode before then smartly grabbing 4th then 5th. 04B04 I did not try until after 04b01, 105, 105.1, 2.0 beta 19800. I used techsteam to update TSM to 04B04 from 040b01, but immediately flashed 105 over it without driving it. 04B04 stock (I got it as a download off FM and not a read/save from FM) is the best behaving tune, for me, save a surging idle. It didn't have the early 3-4 and ran nicely, except a shitty surgy idle. I like everything else about it. 2.0f for test and review is becoming my new favorite, though. The skip in the start cycle is most noticeable on cold start, and barely noticeable on warm start. The rest is really nice and I think maybe the best possible tune OV can get out of the gen 3. I'm sticking with it happily unless a minor tweak on the cold start is added, but I'm good either way. I'll probably learn up on vF and try to push out all the shifts by a few rpms and add a heavy PI squirt to the start up, but this 2.0f for review and test is really really good as is.

Cold start hiccup. I'm running the 31"-33" regular gears 91 octane file. The battery is an AGM about a year old. The hiccup on starting was very noticeable the day of the initial flash and the day after. Today I recorded the startup and it has gotten better. In the video you can barely notice at the end, it seems like its taking a split second longer than normal. Maybe tomorrow it'll improve, I barely noticed it today compared the previous starts. No other issues to report and I've got about 300 miles on the test tune.

And yes I know my gauges are dusty, I'm afraid to clean it without putting anymore on it.

Mine does the exact same thing during start up. I'm also on the 2.0.

I'm going to get a datalog of the startup and send it to @OVTune

@OVTune I can confirm the same startup behavior with my rig.
Another final tester hear. @OVTune do you need any further logging or samples for the startup quirk or should we consider that covered?

Thank you for the reports. I am aware of it so you guys do not have to continue testing cold start to confirm if you have it or not.

A weird hiccup on acceleration every 40-50 miles. Like a stutter where it hesitates, "stalls" then takes off.

ETA: curious if anyone else is experiencing this. Around 250mi on the tune.

    ok thank you.

I'll have a new file ready by friday, should clear up everything that folks have reported.

    *Also*

We are getting... a lot of people asking if they can buy the tunes separately with vF tuner. And a user here mentioned offering tune packs.
I like this idea about tune packs. The main page will be updated with all of the most recent information.
Flash kit owners (dongle, non) will be able to choose from pre-packaged tune packs that they can download and use / edit with vF.
So instead of just choosing (2) tunes to unlock, just download whichever tune pack.

for vF tuner *new* customers. We are considering the idea of having an optional tune pack that you could purchase. These will be ID locked.

COVID has still hindered our ability to stock cables.

Finally, current ticket/email volume is about 3x as much as normal. We are working through it as fast as we can.
Regarding reg keys, my developer is in Europe and I did not know that they celebrate easter much later than we do, so my dev was not available earlier this week.

Yes. The 3/4 shift has been fixed. Obvious other changes Mat made make it idle smoother and have more power. Holds gear better longer and shifts up / down on incline to hold speed but does not do the Toyota OEM thing of up and down repeatedly like a drunk monkey. And looks like mpg are a little better too. No issues. Tipi-In is fine and acceleration is linear - push the pedal and it goes.

probably related to most have stock gearing and not have gone to 4.88 or 5.29. Stock gear ratio not anywhere near what we have. Have to think this has a lot to do with issues others are having. Consider the MT has 4.3 and they all seem happy - no where near the 3.9 in most AT's.

gearing - 100%. 3.90's in the AT are a shifting match nightmare with this transmission Get 4.88 or 5.29.

This is good to know. I was running on 04A61 16012 for quite some time, because I did not like the 'tip in' of 19800. So far, 16012 has been the best version for me.

But, I decided to give 19800 a shot again and that short 3/4 shift is just pretty freaking annoying.

Mat's normal mode of operation is that as long as there are issues (real or perceived) with ECU's that have been released, he's not going to release additional ECU's until those issues are rectified or discounted.

This is the only 2.0 final A/T ECU released so far so not sure what you're referring to - the older betas?

Which would allow you to keep the best gas mileage? I've got a 340lb topper, will probably eventually add front and rear steel bumpers someday, and occasionally tow a 12' enclosed trailer...

If it's anything like the wait for 1.05, I believe the scientific measurement of time is "soon"
