So I noticed a little bit of rust around my hub (because of no center cap). What is everyone doing about that? I assume maybe painting them, but I didn't know if anyone found other good options

This is driving me nuts... I have everything sitting in my garage, but due to this COVID 19 I really shouldn't be going out for stuff like this. Cases are on the rise in my county and if things dont settle down we will be in a holding pattern longer than we need to. The responsible adult in me says just wait it out. Then I think I can do a drop off/pick up deal and I won't really be out... hmmmm. Looks like another month or 2 before I get mine mounted. In the meantime I'll wind up spending money on mods I can do from home without having to go anywhere

Definitely a tough decision. I had my wheels sitting in my apartment since December haha. Maybe talk to your local shop and discuss options. I know my local shop was very accepting to all "social distancing" measures and disinfected everything before and after. I'm sure small shops would also love your business during these tough times!

I'm gonna in the same boat soon lol my wheels are set to be delivered this Friday but i live in one of the most heavily infected counties in my state so im not sure when realistically ill be able to get them put on. Still havent decided on tires to run yet so i guess that gives me a little more time but i know once i see them ill want to get them mounted ASAP

Yeah I called a couple places. I talked about the need to rotate the TPMS when swapping from steel to alloy wheels. Both places had no idea what I was talking about so that doesn't really instill a lot of confidence about a dropoff pickup deal.. I'm just going to wait it out. I have plenty to keep me busy and I'm not driving around anywhere lately. I figure that the more folks that stay home the sooner we can get back to "normal"

I was in the same situaiton, had my F5's in my garage since January, and also had my winter tires on. I've been just working from home, having groceries delivered, etc... not going out. It was getting really warm and the snow tires were becoming horrible to be on. I got my new tires at Discount Tire and their policies made it really easy with everything going on. They had curbisde check in, I then pulled the truck into and out of the bay myself, and waited outside while the tires are mounted. Very limited interaction with people and nobody but me was in the truck.

Nope! There really shouldn't be any rubbing with the 4.5in BS running 265/75/16s. Especially with a 2in lift. Haven't flexed it yet but I'm sure I'll be fine.

@Johnny77 I have same tire and wheel and only thing I rubbed was those small flaps in front of tire mini mud flaps or something.

Educate me please sir, for whenever the new Tire fund is replenished.... What type TPMS is preferred when doing a first time new install? OEM or ??
My new SCS F5's arrived last week and are in the shed now waiting on the stupid Tire fund.....

and BTW I've had a bad battery in one of my (stock wheels) for a few years now... I've just ignore the dashboard light. And i'm looking forward to that going away soon.
    Thanks-

Hey guys, I have a dilemma. I have a 2.5" lift upfront and Dakars in the rear on my third gen. Currently with TRD tacoma pro wheels and 265/75/r16 Duratracs. Caster at 3 degrees and JBA UCA's and no rub at all even fully flexed. I really want to move to 285s. I still haven't decided on 16" (4.5 BS, zero offset) or 17" (-10 offset) F5s... mainly because I'd rather run a C rated tire for less weight and I don't even think there is a c rated 16" tire. But also, and more importantly... Can I get 285s (in either of these rim choices) and be OK with mall crawling for now and no CMC or major rubbing? I do plan to eventually get the CMC and trim, but its not in the cards for now.

You *might* be ok. I rubbed in and out of park lot entries and turning in reverse, but it was manageable for a few months
