we shall see how much of a difference there is on the trails around here once I build my slack geometry hardtail.

Confidence and stupidity are both needed to fly down thing on hardtails, but I’m all in for that.

Facts lol. I just know some XC hardtails that have you so far forward, ain’t no way I’m bombing technical downhills on. But a slack hardtail I could get over the back tire on I would, even if it’s uncomfortable

The shorter stem makes a big difference for getting the weight back, and was a pretty big change on my bike. The slack head angle lengthens I guess helps with that also, but the wheelbase a bit and makes it more stable / harder to endo.

Yeah I gotta get a shorter stem on that GT, the stock one is nuts.

So i understand the slack geometry. But is there anyway of attaining that on my frame? I get that its the head tubes angle but whats the best way to cheat it a bit?

your geometry isn't terrible, you got a trail bike instead of a XC so that's good to start. your stem seems short enough already, so I'd say the next best thing is dropper post to get the seat out of your way. that's the only "cheating" you can do. you can't change the angles of the frame..

Dropper is on the list for sure. I didnt relize mine was a trail bike. That good to know. I know i can change the frame geometry. I was more asking if there were certian parts that could be changed later on that were designed to cheat it a bit? I bet a 120mm fork to replace the 100 would slack it out a bit more as well.

There’s no way to change a frame to lessen the head tube angle.

It is definitely more trail oriented than XC

so....no not really. unless you got a really long fork that I guess would lift the front of the bike? maybe?

I know, just thought somebody made a fork that added more angle or a stem that simulated more angle is all.

you'll be fine with your setup honestly. you're only a couple degrees off from mine and Wes's bikes as far as seat and head tube angles. you might could run a 29" wheel up front and do the reverse mullet? lol

it sure is...idk how I feel about it.

I like the wider tire up front, but I'm not so sure about bigger.

I run one of these. Slackens your head tube angle alltogether

From 150 to 175 aint a bad price range for it either. Def added to the list for later on.
