Lockers go along way! Let’s run a trail this year! I’ve been eyeing slick rock or the rubicon! I have another buddy Down for either or both and I can get another truck or two as well

Hell yea man! Those are both on my list for this year. Lets get a crew and run it.
I'm hoping the snow clears soon and this whole virus thing doesn't totally mess up this summer.

Did the 4x swingout kit come with the main swingout frame welded up already?

I'm curious how far the wheel is mounted away from the rear of the truck. Got any side profile pics?

Yes that came welded together. I can grab a picture for you tomorrow. It doesn’t sit too far off at all.

Sucks don’t it! Hahah I looked around trying to find the best options, even contacted some fab shops before I decided to go with 4x. Makes me wish I would have just bought a bumper from relentless or CBI with a swing out option

    Yea tell me about it.

I'm thinking I might just make my own but use the 4x hinge and latches.

Thanks for the pics! Sits a lot closer than I thought.

Yeah when I ordered it about 6-7 months ago. I didn’t have a welder and wasn’t ready to take it one. But not that I do have a welder, really not all that hard, but when you factor in buying material and the hinge and latches and everything. You don’t really save all that much? Maybe $100-150

A welder changes the game forsure!
Saving money is saving money though haha. Did you get some quotes from some 4x4 shops?

I don't unfortunately. Only the set of OME greasable ones that are on my truck now.

I called around most big shops like shafers and BAMF said no lol too busy I suppose. Moose metals in concord was annoying and hard to work with so I said screw it and ordered the 4x.

All good about the shackles just have a buddy that needs a set. Thought id ask. I know I tossed mine when I put greaseable shackles on

That's lame. All the more reason to do it yourself I guess ha
Moose metal is where I get all my metal. I used to work down the street from them.

Yea I tossed all my old suspension when I put my OME stuff on.

They are expensive overall. I bought 5’ of 2.5” 1/4 wall last week and it was almost 70

Yea they're tubing is pricey for whatever reason. Angle iron and flat bar usually isn't too bad imo.
It pisses me off that they charge you per cut too. Since everything comes in 10ft sticks.

I didn’t realize that, how much is the cut? I bought a chop saw as well so I can make my own cuts. A portable band saw is next

I think it's like $4 a cut, which isn't too bad. But can add up if you're buying a bunch of material.
I guess you could cut it there yourself after you buy it so that it fits in the bed better, but I don't know how well that would go over with them doing it in their parking lot haha.
A chop saw makes your life so much easier. It's a pain in the dick trying to get straight cuts with an angle grinder
