@atvlifestyle had a rearend housing from them about a year ago and it was somewhat out of spec so idk what happened with their parts fab. Recently I got one that (reportedly by the machine shop I had install snouts) was closer.

Pretty sad if they're losing their quality control. Shouldn't take that long to double check measurements and make sure it's right the first time. Especially for a shop their size.

Well, just had to drop a chunk of cash on the driveshaft and wheel bearings so that SUA budget takes the hit. In my quest for good geometry and make my archive hangers/4.9” shackle work with the H70 pack from deaver, I’d like to discuss the front spring hangers. In most of the SUA kits I’ve looked at, the front hanger is also replaced/relocated. Any one know why this is? It doesn’t appear to relocated far from stock locations, perhaps a bit downward?

The springs are longer than stock springs so you have to keep your axle located in the correct spot.

Or you could buy my DMZ kit that has proven results that it will work properly. Rather than try to frank Einstein something with hopes of "good geometry" wasting both time and money.

Fyi the H70 will be too long for the stock spring hangers.

That makes sense, thanks. The front will always be the reference point from the frame to axle.

Yeah, I’ve seen them advertised as both a 61 1/2” and 62” spring. So that kills the idea of budget SUA. Getting a full kit isn’t feasible right now. So I’m probably just gonna have to wait awhile until I can afford a kit. Thought it better to do my research to see if there was anyway to shortcut the rear, but doesn’t look like it.

The amount a new H70 pack and archive hangers cost already put you close to the cost of the DMZ kit hangers and leafs. The rest of the stuff, shocks, spring perches, limit straps, shock tabs, u bolt plates etc will cost the same either way.

I already have the hangers installed, have been for over year. I was trying to figure out if they could be salvaged for this build. Not buying new hangers.

Any one have a single cab cage? About to start mine and I don't know if I should do the B pillar in the cab or a main hoop outside.

this is deaver springs that fit in the stock hanger location. if you have a longer spring you could move the hammer hanger back and make a new front mount but you are reinventing the wheel. both the camburg kit and the dmz kit look like the rear hanger is lower and the shackle is way longer. any thoughts @archivegarage ? i don't know anything about this h70 spring

Could just call deaver and have them make you a set of custom springs. That way you could keep your hangers the way they are, switch to spring under and make sure they’re the right arch and spring rate for your truck. They can make you whatever you need so long as they have all the necessary info

Yes, that is the other option. I wanna get to working on the front, rear is taking lots of time and effort. But that's all fun in the LT game.

Nope. Used the exact part number recommended for the kit.

Im not sure what you’re referring to.

*Edit* Are you referring to the additional gussets on the heims of the UCA? If so yes, they were one of the first things I put on there.

Doing some work on my rear end the other day and scratching my head at when I need to replace these Deavers. Do you guys have any tell tale signs of wear that once you see you replace? I have noticed from flexing some of the internal leafs are a little bent and not sitting totally flat to one another, likely causing my old wooden ship creaking. Its hard to even tell if they are losing performance at all. Just a shower thought.

You can get rid of the squeaking by separating them, checking the anti-friction pads, spraying lube in there or power washing them and letting them dry with compressed air or just taking them apart and scotchbriting them. Got pics of them?
