Bought a mount for a 30" light bar in the front bumper about to order the light bar today. The only problem that I have is the front license plate, I live in Texas so it's required by law and it currently blocks the spot on the bumper that the light bar mounts in. I'm leaning towards mounting it on the skid plate below, the angle won't be great but hopefully I have a case if I get pulled over. Also curious about fill the holes that will be left and how yall have gone about filling them. Please post any pics yall of your bumpers w/ light bars, etc. and what yall ended up doing

You can always put your plate in the inside passenger side of your windshield. Would be a lot better than mounting on your skid plate as you wouldn't be able to see it on yours since your truck isn't lifted. GL & welcome to TW

I knew I was going to mount a light bar behind the grill when I bought the truck, so I mounted the plate below the lower opening.

I'm literally running a 3" lift and ~32's. I've thought about putting it in the windshield but my buddy does the same thing and gets pulled over all the time just for him to point out to the cop that it's in the window. thanks for the suggestion tho bud.

Thinking about doing the same, does it hang much off the bottom

Been like this for 2 1/2 years and have never been pulled over. I was pulled over for speeding once, met the cop head on and he never mentioned the front plate.AFEF40AC-407D-4169-8F51-D29F567B1FA1.jpg

No, it doesn't hang down too much. I've had it there since I bought the truck in 2014 and have never had a problem with it.

I DIY'd the license plate bracket out of some steel. Gets it out of the way and isn't so obtrusive being in the OEM location. The only issue is having existing holes if your bumper was drilled.

Thanks for the heads up @ChemDawg!

There are links below in my signature to the various brackets I offer. With a 2008 you could run either the bracket that uses the skid plate hardware or one that mounts under the bumper. If you are interested just let me know and we can work out the details.

You can also use the solutions listed above or if you have the desire you can craft your own solution. That was how I came up with the first bracket I made for myself.
