I was just down there Saturday. Jail Trail is steep and loose AF, but rowdy fun. The flow trail is Deer Valley level. The latest dh run isnt open, but the lower original flow trail is.

Care to elaborate? Pros and cons, that kind of thing. Is it the GFC brand or other? Is it worth the coin?

I'm pretty sure @SenatorBlutarsky has a Drifter (EDIT: he beat me to it). I've also seen a couple GFC's around town, but don't know of any members here that own them.

Same. The concept seems super slick. I wish I could swing the price tag. The broken hinge thing is pretty shitty, along with GFC's handling of it...

Ive crawled all over both and can say definitively that id spend the extra cheddar on a drifter instead of a gfc. Build quality is much more stout, doesnt have a hinge issue, and the roof is made of metal, not plastic

Ohhh, you want to know more about it!

It's a Vagabond Drifter, as others have mentioned, and it's the shit. Super quick to setup/breakdown, bed is comfortable (and my bedding stays up there all the time), there's enough room for 4-5 adults to hangout with the bed folded out of the way, and it's hardly noticeable on the truck when it's closed (weighs about 350lbs, so not much more than a shell and RTT setup).

I'm hard pressed to name any cons at this point. It certainly has some disadvantages compared to our old van, but that's more about benefits of some setups over others.

I checked out the GFC and the AT options. I think the Vagabond is the ideal middle ground of price point and quality. The only downside these days is the wait time is about a year (maybe more with the shops closed for COVID-19).

I'd be more than happy to let anyone check it out once this whole pandemic thing settles down.

    Welcome back.

I assume you mean Drifta? At least that is what came up from a Google search. They are certainly on the upper end of cost. How about Roofnest or The Bush Company? Doesn't @cwhet10 have a GFC or similar?

    Edit: Answered above. ^^^

Thanks! Not I want the shell part. Was just looking to go with a rack and an easier tent option.

Honestly, I think the real advantage of the wedge campers (GFC, Vagabond, AT, etc) over any RTT setup is that you have an enclosed interior space that you can stand up in. For a nice weekend camping, when you're gonna spend most of your time outside, there's really no advantage over a hardshell RTT. It's the not so nice camping trips, when you're debating if the weather will behave and make it worthwhile, the wedge camper is great cause you know you'll be comfortable regardless of the weather.

We've camped in ours in some pretty cold temps and been quite comfy...
