To be honest we didn't finish the last leg of the trail We turned back shortly after this pic. If you've never seen the trial the last 1/2 mile is along a knife edge with 1600' drops on both sides. They have a chain for a hand hold in the bad places. It wasn't necessarily the trail, but the number of impatient people that concerned me.

There were a couple of times when we were outbound on a narrow section of trail and meeting large groups of people on their way back. Instead of waiting for us to clear the narrow sections before proceeding they came on. Meeting oncoming hikers in such a narrow spot is what made me uncomfortable. I will go back one day and finish the trail.

Some internet pics for anyone not familiar

Nice thing about hiking in the spring is most of the higher elevation trails are still covered with snowpack. Most folks don't have the equipment (or gumption) to get very far from the car. It's fun being the first person to make it to a lake thats been snowed in since early November.

YUP! I usually do really good on hikes but this one kicked my ass! Both my legs cramped up! basically on limp mood all the way to the top! These two hikers saw me suffering and offer me some electrolytes then bought me some ICE CREAM!! LOL !! :)

    Thanks for posting guys

Here's a few from the archives..

    20180901_133144.jpg

I remember this one because the snow up on the ridge wasn't there when i started out earlier that afternoon. Got drenched by a storm, the clouds lifted right at dusk to reveal brand new snow, first of the season. This is on the PCT close to Snoqualmie Pass
