I thought it was dirt on my screen. I don't know why it is there. I am learning Italian at the moment.

It is a good feeling. It's not apathey, and it's not concite. It's just an item that I know doesn't need much of my time to spend working about.

Charles Schwab. Never used anything else to compare to but I like it and I put everything I buy on their investor credit card. 1.5% cash back goes into my brokerage

I could probably get there in just a couple of years, but I am still a bit of live in the moment, personally.

Once my paycheck comes in a set amount goes immediately to fixed expenses and investments. I then just blow everything else on groceries, social events, whatever. So I live paycheck to paycheck... Sorta. More self-imposed than anything.

I just know in the back of my head that I'm still securing my future so I sleep just fine at night.

I use td ameritrade and robinhood. I was going to close RH and use just TD. But they couldn’t figure out how to transfer my account I guess. Might leave it for my etf investments account so that they’re separated from my gambling account in TD. Haven’t figured out if I can earmark stuff on TD or group them without having a second account.

Passive income is always a good idea. My friend builds website shells to drop content into, generating traffic and ad revenue pertinent to the content. He pays someone to create the content (anything form woodworking to salad dressing flavors to business blogging) while he focuses on SEO updates. Maybe an hour of maintenance per month!

You can build custom watch lists on TD

But having multiple accounts and flipping between them is really easy on TD. Literally one click.

I use Fidelity, Vanguard, Robin Hood and M-1.

Fidelity is by far the best. Easiest. Most brute force, best records.
Vanguard I only use for their OE mutual funds
Robin Hood is OK, I like their phone app.
M-1 is just different. It's good for long term. Say pick a couple stocks and a couple ETF's, feed it money and forget about it as it allocates automagically %wise as you have set.

    I don’t mean a watch list I mean positions.

yeah I see where I can create another account and do it easily. Flip side is also having my moneys spread out so that if one firm locks an account for some reason, I still have another.

Whatever there’s bigger fish to worry about frying.

It will feel more like work but how much enjoyment people get from work is a sliding scale. If you truly like it you'll still enjoy it even though it feels more like real work.

I was municipal firefighter for 7 years from 20 to 27. It was, at the time, my dream job. During my days off I would swing a hammer for a friend of mine. My true passion was rock climbing. It still is.

After 7 years the politics of my job in the FD caused me to be passed up for a promotion. I had better scores, was fitter, and an all around better asset to the department then the guy who got it. I also didn't hold my tongue or kiss anyone's ass. After I got passed over I resigned. I figured it was time to move on and pursue a career as a climbing guide. I really thought it would be my next dream job.

I moved to the Gunks to become a climbing guide. I swung a hammer to make money while I was prepping for the NY State and American Mountain Guide Associations tests. After a few months I had passed all the tests and was certified. I know had both AMGA and NY State certs. I called a buddy and he got me a job for his guide service. I was so stoked to be able to get payed to climb. Life was good.

I spent the next 3 months working as a guide and hating life. I quickly realized it wasn't the career for me. Some people are really good teachers and some aren't. I'm not. It also doesn't help that I generally don't like most people. Combine those two things and your dream job becomes a nightmare in a hurry. I finished that season and promptly packed my rig to go on a climbing road trip.

I ended up in Cali and never went back home. Once settled here I started work as a carpenter. I'm good at it and perform well above the average guy so it was easy to get payed well. After 6 months of swinging a hammer full time I realized I truly enjoyed it. I liked problem solving, working with my hands and being able to see your hard work as the end result.

What started out as a job to just make some extra cash turned into my full time profession. I still enjoy my work everyday. Even more so now that I've been home for weeks. I truly miss work. I don't miss it because of the lost income. I miss it because it gives me a feeling of purpose and a true feeling of satisfaction once a job is complete.

Same here if you look over in “Home improvement” thread you’ll see some of my work. A lot of people don’t know what it’s like to take pride in your work and get that feeling of accomplishment. I am a service technician so I know the feeling of “problem solved”.

I wish I could say I enjoy the feeling, I used to but these days once you get “problem solved” you get “new problem”.
It would help if our equipment wasn’t old as dirt.

They don’t have to worry about companies cutting since they use an option strategy to generate the payouts. I was just looking at QQQX the other day.
