Fitting 35’s with minimal trimming NOW ADDING LONG TRAVEL AND 934 CV’s

The tundra conversion is no good in my opinion because you loose steering angle and they add a lot of bump steer

 

I knew you lost a little steering angle but didn’t hear anything about bump steer. Either way this seems like it will be way cheaper and just as strong if not stronger. Curious how the bigger pump will help turn bigger tires though. The fact that it essentially bolts up to a stock rack is a huge turn on as well.

 

Well TC pumps are used in trophy trucks running 40’s as well as ultra 4 stuff so I think it will be fine for a Tacoma

I was gonna wait to unveil the next big thing but fu*k it!

The rear springs showed up today and the rear shackles are going to get flipped and will pivot on D44 snouts attached to the side of the frame. This will get rid of the low hanging crap currently available while allowing for a longer shackle than anyone is running. It might sound complex but it’s actually really simple and will solve all the issues in the rear people are having while increasing travel across the board regardless of springs.

 

Nice. I really enjoy watching the progress of this. Now I need to get the missus on board and I can have a badass Tacoma too. Keep up the awesome work.

 

Stock CVs will do that if you're not a dick driver.

No offense taken. Nothing against DMZ or any other sua kits, but none of them were meant for rock crawling. I’ve probably spent as much time on the rear shackle hangers as sliders. Hopefully this “fix” will keep things straight until I decide to do links in a few years.

 

I’ve seen all the issues guys are having and the spindle snout setup is gonna be a game changer

 

I’ve seen it done on 1st gens since they typically go shackle above the frame and “inverted” from the 2nd gen orientation. It’s a great idea and I’ll be curious what sort of travel you’ll get out of it.

 

Learn to drive on stock cvs and it will save you alot of money.

Learn from @tetten broken parts can get alot more expensive after upgrading cvs.

Personally I usually just get some OEM used axles off ebay. Only broke one CV so far and that was my fault.

 

Can't turn 40s very far without an aggressive tubbing.

 

Tundra rack is taller than Taco, so the inner steering pivot moves up. When you put heim joint tie rod in the outer pivot moves down.

Apparently for LT trucks those two adjustments aren't an issue because of the longer arms. But on a mid travel truck the bump steer is shocking and sets up a positive feedback loop oscillation in the suspension.

I totally agree... The 934’s will not make the truck indestructible- but the increased angle allows for a lot more down travel which these trucks desperately need as they dam near sit dropped out at ride height

 

^^^ This. Stronger is a bonus, travel numbers is the issue

 

I have quite an aggressive tubbing. Sadly I won’t clear 40’s without moving he wheels forward. This was just for the 37’s.
