    Interesting technique with leaving the exhaust header attached.
    I've always taken it all the way out in order to get the head out

    There's quite a bit of movement in the exhaust, and i hate dealing with exhaust. I'll probably tie it back a little bit to make the reassembly easier.

    If I ever take my head off again (lets hope I never have to), I'll have to try that. Always hate dealing with the flanged connection at the collector.

    That the one is the worst. Its all corroded and nothing fits right.

    Yea and since it sees the most heat, you pretty much have to replace those two gaskets anytime you separate it. Otherwise you will almost definitely have an exhaust leak there. Learned that one the hard way (multiple times).

    Considering the situation I bought this truck in, yeah, I'm stoked. Got super lucky.

    At least, aside from this valve that has decided it wants to be really close to the cam. :laughing:
