Icon finally got back to me!





With no answers but more questions.

 

After seeing your axle @busmup808 now I'm thinking along the lines of a retubed and pumpkin flipped 1st Gen axle or fj80 high pinion front with custom length longfields. Then a full floater conversion for the rear axle..


At that point I may as well just get a diamond axle.

 

I think you can rotate inchworm tcase to other side?! Cruiser axles and that?

 

Essentially that’s what I’m looking to do, ive been thinking about cutting the hump on the floor out and having the drawers open and angle forward, out away from the c pillar

 

Have you seen the molle panels that replace all the plastic? Opens up a lot more room as well

I have A completely unsubstantiated rumor, but it makes sense and i don’t know why it hasn’t been done yet....Marlin crawler is supposedly going to be offer lower (4.7?) FJ cruiser transfer case gears

 

Thanks going to have to look into that. I like the looks of it but I’d like to retain the passenger side rear seat if i could

 

Ya mine has the ATRAC switch and another switch down there, the other 2-3 are blanks

The 3rd member in my picture is a high pinion 8” from a 80 series LC. I also installed a ARB AIR LOCKER with the 5.29 NITRO GEARS ⚙️

 

I’m going to need a full explanation on what’s going on here.

 

My buddy put the HP elocker in the front of his 95 t4r that he SAS'd. He still hasn't wired in the switch probably 8 years now. He just bought a 99ish xcab Tacoma for $50. The 4runner lost a cylinder, so hes going to swap the running gear from his runner into it.

 

On the home stretch, more parts coming in daily.

So that is the one you went with? I couldn't quite tell earlier if it was a stock housing or if you went with a different option.

Since I've been home all I've done is start looking for a front axle and pricing/piecing out parts.

 

2nd gen width?

 

Yup, 67" or maybe it's 65". I can never find a definitive answer and I don't have the rear axle shafts in my axle right now to measure.

 

I'd definitely consider this, but should have done it before I put the case in the truck.
