Frankly QYLD has been pretty well behaved. Yes it dipped as did everything. I bought more, and as you state we just keep getting paid on the 28th. Current yield around 12%!

QQQX payouts look odd. So much of it appears to be return of capital. Hmmm...........dunno

It is an odd strategy. It sells call options on its holdings, while trying to replicate the QQQ. Honestly I think the QQQ outperforms it, but the payout is nice on QQQX if you want income.

All of this is right. We had the largest household income of our lives in 2019 and we were both miserable, I was way too stressed out and quit a six figure job because I hated it so much, with no real major change to lifestyle commensurate to income. I realized chasing money sucks, just be able to buy what you need and some wants and life is good. We are (were) also DINKS who dont really keep up with the Jones's so your mileage may vary.

I wouldn’t be on this forum if I was rich...I would have a team doing my investment research and Drive a g wagon instead of a Tacoma.

It is, although I have been considering an office job, that is my part time/weekend job but my full time job is operating similar equipment for local government.

South Mississippi, probably similar heat/humidity wise but we have beautiful white sandy beaches, I’m not sure about South Carolina.

Look at the source of the payout $ between QYLD and QQQX. Now I don't know if this is because of reporting rules, reporting methods, fund structure.....but QQQX is just returning capital (giving your money back to you basically and not sustainable) vs. QYLD which is paying a true dividend (which in a completely different argument is a return of your money for any asset). You follow?

All good except the United stocks I own are worth even less now. Guess I could just throw even more money at them.

I do get it. QQQX is paying you profit from writing call options, not dividends.

So where are the QYLD dividends coming from?

It’s almost all option writing income, maybe a very small amount from dividends.

QYLD yields 13.4%, and is made of Nasdaq companies, none of which have much of a dividend.

Oh I thought you knew about both and were comparing.
QYLD is "GLOBAL X FUNDS GLOBAL X NASDAQ 100 COVERED CALL ETF" and I assure you the assets alone are not paying those dividends, also making $ from options, covered calls for the most part.

The funds are quite similar in some ways but QQQX is run as a CEF and QYLD is an ETF. I tend to prefer the way the ETF is run. And you should, if you own QQQX why the ROC. It could be troublesome or just require reporting rules.

Formatting got screwed up. Just look both up and look at distribution details.
