Bought this after work yesterday. I don't seem capable of buying anything with wheels new. Even my KTM, which I bought new, was a left over previous year. But it only had 3 miles. This pedal bike is 1997 from what I have been able to determine a la googley.

 

Yes, you can have a new new key made from the VIN with proof of ownership.

 

Yup. I did this for the 4runner when I got it. I only had 1 key and that was wearing out so I had the dealer make me new keys off the VIN. Had to show my registration for proof of ownership. Should probably do that for the Taco now too.

 

I think I only paid like $14 for one but that was in 2012

 

I don't recall but it's still cheap.

Dang and no connections at any other Ford dealerships huh? Even if out of state, just providing them the FA and FB numbers could allow them to get a key made for your truck as well as fob programmed.

Least that was the old school way of doing it; first one was for ignition and second for the module that communicates with the fob

 

I haven't asked around too much. The indy shop up the street from my house has the Ford IDS tool so I'd think they could hook me up... but that's 2 hours from here. I just have been slacking on having that key bought/made


They remote start key and antenna are super cheap from a dealer on eBay. again, local dealer wanted $180 for the key alone
