They are both in the Dividend Aristocrat index. Some companies take that seriously, it takes 25 years to get there, and great success for that time period. I think they'll cut their work force before breaking their dividend increase streak. If they lose investor interest, that might really be a problem.

"[Amazon]........... has long asserted, including to Congress, that when it makes and sells its own products, it doesn’t use information it collects from the site’s individual third-party sellers—data those sellers view as proprietary."

    https://www.wsj.com/articles/amazon...peting-products-11587650015?mod=djemalertNEWS

"Amazon.com Inc. employees have used data about independent sellers on the company’s platform to develop competing products, a practice at odds with the company’s stated policies."

"......interviews with more than 20 former employees of Amazon’s private-label business and documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal reveal that employees did just that. Such information can help Amazon decide how to price an item, which features to copy or whether to enter a product segment based on its earning potential, according to people familiar with the practice, including a current employee and some former employees who participated in it.

In one instance, Amazon employees accessed documents and data about a bestselling car-trunk organizer sold by a third-party vendor. The information included total sales, how much the vendor paid Amazon for marketing and shipping, and how much Amazon made on each sale. Amazon’s private-label arm later introduced its own car-trunk organizers.

“Like other retailers, we look at sales and store data to provide our customers with the best possible experience,” Amazon said in a written statement. “However, we strictly prohibit our employees from using nonpublic, seller-specific data to determine which private label products to launch.”

Amazon said employees using such data to inform private-label decisions in the way the Journal described would violate its policies, and that the company has launched an internal investigation."

I went from up $1,000+ on the day to negative, then back up. Not sure why, the market is crazy.

I only dropped 1.5%, was it a certain sector of the market?
    Edit: down 2.6% now.

    Something with the Gilead trial.

Edit: Data from the trial was released by accident, and showed no benefit. Gilead is jumping in quick, removed the news, and said it is showing benefits.

Seems like someone can sneeze and freak the market out fast. But it can get all schoolboy excited just as fast over any little thing. Crazy

I heard a stat that the average age of death in Italy was 79.6 years old. Then there's news showing that many more have the virus that they're using for the death rates. That all tells me that in time, this will shake out and everything will be fine. I expect a lot of volatility in the meantime though!

PM if you want details but the average death age is around the 75-80 year old mark worldwide from the info that I have.

The fact that they keep changing the qualifications of the death counts they are now saying it's going to get worse in the fall, focusing on super expensive drug trials and vaccines while ignoring cheaper drugs, shouting down studies about uncounted cases that would send the death rate down and other therapeutics makes my bs meter spike. I'm also really skeptical about evreything though. Stuff doesn't add up. Hopefully this drives a sell off and I can buy some stock cheap here.
