I get along with them. My wife and I work from 6AM to 8PM 6 days a week. We have Sundays off and hang out at home after church. We used to go to their house or lake house every Sunday after church. Our daughter is now 4 1/2 and has never been to their lake house. They disrespect us and our parenting. Who needs that? We don't have time for their drama. They know where we live and are both retired and healthy. They see their other two grandkids more than our kids and they live in Alabama. I'm over it. Same with my parents the way they act towards us and they live 3 miles away.

kind of a shame

 

My problem was always over doing it until my last back surgery. Now I just hire people for any heavy labor. I am most comfortable when moving around. fortunately my job requires my to round through several areas of the hospital so I get plenty of steps in. Wife and I try to hike at least 10 miles a week.

 

Life is WAY TOO SHORT to deal with things like that. Sorry man!

Screw that you don’t need that around yourself or the kid. Not agreeing on parenting styles would be one thing but from what you said it seams like a lot more than just that.

 

It is a shame, and that's the short version I said. I love our parents and my parents and I were always close but we refuse to let them raise our kids or tell us how to, they had their chance with us

 

I never had back surgery but I have 2 bulging discs in my neck . Never had lower back problems until a couple years ago . That degenerative disc disease the Dr says with arthritis. It one thing or another ,neck ,back ,shoulder ,ankle now my hands too . Carpal tunnel I’m assuming.All Brought on by too much hard work and parting in the past . Oh and getting old

 

It is! So far I've skipped a few steps and have fixed things and added "customer upset parts take time to ship"..... Also if you're gonna "fix" things your own way, which ends up hurting the tool more, don't get upset when I have to figure out what ya did and fix it right.

 

I know how that is, I have 3 bulging disc on top of each other in my neck. Hurts everyday! My dad has degenerative disc disease and has had 8 back operations. Doctor told me put it off as long as I can.

Sadly if I ever had kids I feel like this would be a problem with my parents(really just my mom)

also I could see a HUGE problem with my crazy aunt. She already talked about how shitty some parents are who don’t agree with her style.

 

My mom is the problem with my family, can't go against the grain with her or she disowns you. My dad just keeps his mouth shut and agrees with her cause he has to live with her. My in laws, it's both of them. He called when my wife was 9 months pregnant with our son and told her when they were having a baby shower, my wife said no I'm not going that far away, he said "y'all are both wrong" blah blah and they never gave her a shower on her family side. Whatever, they are all missing out on some wonderful, funny, smart kids and I hate it for them all. We have a couple who act like grandparents to them (no relation) and our kids actually call them grandma and grandpa.
