I wonder if you could potentially hook it up to the dome light switch above your head. Anything’s possible I guess but makes my case for @mattgecko

Yes it is doable, I have mine ran that way. The info is on TW.

The fine print: Do to liability, I don't provide install instructions to tie into factory wiring.

Thank you. My truck did not come with a switch, but had a blank in the location of the switch. I did figure it out and will post to show what to do.

3rd Gen Access cabs without the 3rd brake light bed light can install it and need the switch to turn the bed lights on or off. A 2020 sport Access Cab only needs the light kit, the relay, and the switch and the rest is prewired and ready to go.

Edit: I uploaded my pictures to an album and will link here for access cab people to use (as soon as I figure out how to link an album... Here are my albums. I have included notes with the pictures. FLJB

The install instructions with part numbers are in my post above (perhaps previous page post #90 Page 5) and that lists the parts to buy. Then you remove the panel and the blank and put in the relay and switch and use the prewired plug in a secret location and you are good to go!

Easy and cool Covid Mod to do!

Thank you, sir! Much appreciated! I am going to call the dealer parts department tomorrow to see if they have the lights, relay, and switch in stock.

yes, if you click through the album pictures, it has notes on them... The prewired plug that attaches to the switch is in a blank behind the panel you pull out. Unless you are talking about in the bed, those wires are behind the tail lights and my post earlier or previous page has the install instructions from the TIS that has pictures and everything to show where the wires in the bed are. hope that answered the question.

Nope...the wires that the 2020 already has routed into the cab from the bed lights. It joins the wires that provide power to the Cargo Lamp (you don't have), that junction is my question...

I am not sure I understand what you are saying... but, no I do not have the cargo lamp. I installed the lights in the bed, installed the relay and the switch that i bought and the switch controls the bed lights, off, with doors or on. No cargo lamp needed. The relay and switch are what allows it to work despite not having a cargo light.

Yeah looks like dealer has "sale" for switch and lights. $63 for the switch and $50 for the lights. I will just throw it on the :spending:

If anyone is trying to save some money, you can purchase part: 84267-0C010 for the switch instead of 84267-0C020. You can find them for $40 on Ebay used instead of $70 and they work just fine. I have one installed on my access cab.

Does anyone know how to install 3rd brake light cargo lamp? Not that I have the switch and relay I wanted to know if I can install a 3rd brake light that will light up the bed (white lights) when I use the switch? I've seen them on Ebay for $15. Does anyone know if they are just plug and play?

Incase anyone was wondering, apparently the 2nd gen 3rd brake lights work for the 3rd gen access cabs.

Heres what I'm talking about on eBay:

Had the light strips in other trucks and they all fall off in the California heat. Great light, just won't stick for that long. Then the dust gets in them and I had to glue the damn things..... going back to OEM on this truck, if I can find a dealer to get the correct ones.

I have a 2020 and ordered the lights as individual pieces as mentioned earlier on in this thread. Install took less than thirty minutes and I got mine from Norwalk Toyota. They had the individual components for less than I could find the full kit even with shipping and tax. Now it looks like the full kit is cheaper by about $0.05.

    2x Harnesses (PT857-35200-AB)

Can you post a pic of it at night? Maybe I’ll go the OEM route one day.
