So we have a difficult rescued dog. She has not liked me, tolerated me in any fashion for 6 years. Barks when I come home, paces around the table shen I am home, lots of “broken dog” shit. She’s a cool doggo and camps and hikes with us without issue as long as my wife or daughter are around. I’m the only person that feeds her and gives treats. Recently I found that she likes it when I make her bed. Got some wags n shit. First time ever. Anyway we went for a drive and me n dog had to chill in the cab for a bit. I’m hopeful that my long term efforts have paid off somewhat. 1E4B5D00-6AE4-48F5-8811-AEEB62C89A6C.jpgE9F63A7F-BA3C-4623-A058-F6CD9514BB92.jpg

Check out BAMF bed bars. Decent price and will do the job.

Question for anyone who got a RTT. Does RTT breaks your bedsides? If so, how do you prevent it?How bad is it off-road? I'm talking about in places like Slick rock, Deer valley or Rubicon not the fire roads. Does your truck teeter totter a lot?

    Bed stiffeners. Install them.

Even with those, I have suffered a slight stress fracture on my topper. But there is certainly more to consider with a topper, especially since I have added more weight aloft with a rack, 4 gallons of water/fuel in rotopax, and plano case loaded with recovery gear.

I do have bed stiffeners, but I am not sure it will help that much because they are only in the back. Also, rack and RTT are heavy AF. Unless there are bed stiffners in 3 different spots, I have a feeling that it might not be enough. That's just a gut feeling.

Maybe ditch the RTT when rock crawling?

Ground tent has served a lot of people on the rubicon.

That is why I went with Brute Force Fabs bed cage, it doesn't mount to the bed rails, it mounts to the bed floor. The -3" cage keeps the tent nice and low, I know its there, but IMO it really isn't bad.

You need to have purchased the shell with stiffeners installed. I'd say that with that much weight on it, you might need to add additional support, like a frame or something.
