Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Any time I brake then get back on the gas, the truck is in too high of a gear it seems. It's like it just doesn't downshift. Anyone else experiencing this?

 

Are you in S or D?

 

Drive. Also, S mode isn't really a "Gear lock" as it still downshifts when in S mode.

Nah,
but I can see how so many that are not following instructions can add to Matt's stress.
I guess it could add to the delays, as Matt has to filter through the noise.

Like following a cooking recipe,
"Instructions say to use steak, beef stock, cayanne.
I went and used tofu, Japanese dashi and extra black pepper instead. Taste like shit 1/10"

I use a SP4 as well. Zero issues other than windows defender talking shit on the flash utility but thats not computer specific.

 

Yeah, all I do is give it a fair amount of gas in S mode and it downshifts.

 

Lawl....windows defender is an asshole....definitely can relate

 

You can turn it off in install and then just add the entire directory to the exception list.....no issues.

 

My tuning laptop has everything off for this reason...but defender boned me pretty hard on my gaming PC...played generation zero for about 3 hours and it saved nothing, because defender decided it was going to start blocking save files after an update......yay

edit... Or i should say, everything tuning related was added to the list...I still have trust issues with it though lol

If you’re in gearlock you can unlock the TC by pushing the gas pedal. It will appear like a downshift but is really an increase in rpm (in the gear you’re locked on) for more power. You can’t command a downshift in gearlock mode. If you do nothing but slow to a stop the trans will eventually downshift itself to 1st gear to protect against lugging or stalling.
