I noticed that on the TRD packaged trucks, Toyota is no longer putting "V6 SR5" on the right side of the tailgate. They now only put "V6" over there. The 2010s have it, but the 2011s don't.

    Any idea why?

yea i understand that, but putting an sr5 sticker on something that isnt a 5 speed, is like putting a v8 sticker on a v6

i know its all a marketing scam, like the type S corrolla, put an S on something and automatically people want it cause it sounds fast..same concept with SR5, even though it isnt a true SR5 like what i used to be in the 80s, it gets people's attention and they end up saying "ooohh i want an SR5, sounds cool!"

I believe that most of Toyotas stuff back in the day was manual 4 & 5 speeds. Don't think there was too many autos around.

I saw a Ford Mustang one time that had a Nissan GTR emblem on it that he probably picked up at Pep Boys. Should of asked him if his car was a hybrid...red neck rice.

    AWE shucks...look what I found...first post.

Truly they would have sold many more if their trannys were as solid as the 2 and 3 speed autos of the day. They weren't and they tended to be gutless with an auto in them. Boy have we come a long way. I 'borrowed' a 335 (bmr) recently and that thing drove home the point that there is no need for a manual these days!!!

I still enjoy driving a stick shift. They suck in traffic I will admit, but my 5 speed in my older Toy is better than the auto's they used to have. I have to agree with you.

Yeah, I hear you on the fun meter but once you get used to the paddle shifters they'll be fun and when you have to drive in traffic, just put it in an auto mode. :D
