Team O’Neil posted a pretty good TRD Off-road review.

I know I wasn’t trying to be a dick but that’s a pretty steep price for an SR5. He probably could have found one cheaper farther away but didn’t even look.:notsure:

I hear yea but you see guys find good deals all over they are willing to drive or fly to get them. I was just pointing out in a internet way that before you spent a nickel on your SR5 I already had a better deal and I hadn’t started spending on upgrades yet if I even do any big ones. I’m not knocking your deal or truck at the end of the day if your happy and feel like it was a good deal then good for you and enjoy your truck. I probably should not have said anything I pretty much suck at this Internet forum thingy.

I paid 34 otd as well for my sr5, i think people getting better deals live in an area where there is a much lower demand for these trucks. The off roads were close to 40k at my dealer

I also didnt have the luxury of travelling to get the best deal possible

that’s pretty cheap for a 2020 OR, I though I got a decent deal at 38,000 OTD for my 18 OR when I bought it in May 2018. Sticker on the window was 39,950. What was the actual price of the truck not including TTL?

Yea I think at hour 3 you should be able to kick the dealer in the nuts every 10 minutes after the 3rd hour until they make a deal.

Isn't there a cheap available kit for Jeeps that fixes this death wobble on them

and aren't there people with Tacoma's that retrofit live front axle to them

Yeah but those people are obsessed with driving over rocks the same way Arnie from “Whats Eating Gilbert Grape” was obsessed with climbing water towers
    https://youtu.be/i5KBVCoKYt0

They don’t know why they do these things. They just do them. Meanwhile everyone else goes around the rocks at a decent speed, to get to where they are going.

solid axle rigs aren’t bad, I have fixed death wobble more times than I can think of. It can be ball joints, steering box, trackbar, drag link, control arms, tires or tire balance, bent wheel, bad unit bearings ect... just need to find the right person for the job.

It’s like some of these guys have never seen a “lockers required” sign. Back in the Midwest at some of the private off road parks it was locker(s) or you weren’t permitted on those trails. I for one am very happy that I have my rear (and front) lockers. Crawl control I could do without but it comes on the truck.

I wouldn’t have been happy with an SR5. I like my interior too much even if it is always covered in dust.

My only regret was getting rid of my 2017 OR for a 2019 Pro. It was what I wanted at the time but then the off road bug hit hard and I can’t bring myself to get rid of the Pro suspension.

Ehhhhhh I’m kinda with you on this...but also not. There are more “lockers required” features spread out all over the place, in no name canyons, backyards, rando trails, than there are actual signs. So it is possible that a person who has never set tires on an OHV park may have completed the required locker usage to qualify here, yet never seen a sign.

I actually just edited my post to reflect the private OHV park stuff. I just moved out here to AZ a few years ago and love the fact that you just find some BLM land and go. So many of the named “trails” out here are just coordinates on the map that you would never find if a friend of a friend of a friend didn’t tell their friend that the trails even existed there.

Ford can't figure it out on their super duty trucks. Mine got new wheel bearings at 47k and still does it. The internet is full of live axle F series death wobble which dealerships cannot fix and Ford has not issued a recall or TSB. Luckily, it's my work truck and I don't have any money in it, but when a 9000lb truck suddenly becomes barely controllable at 75mph, your priorities become much more clear.

Isn't that really the point of the review! OR rock-crawlers here are offended by the video because they feel he took a swipe at their over priced four wheelers. But that isn't what he said, he said that purest don't need to bother paying extra for plush interiors to get equal performance. UNLESS, a plush interior is part of what you like with your four wheeling experience. If that is the case, then it's OK to pay extra.

Don't let the lockers be a distraction, they come stock with the plush interiors, but 3rd party lockers can get added easily.

It's like the oil threads, posters who pay for cheaper oil make fun of the posters who treat their engines with higher priced oil. But, for many, there is satisfaction in paying more for a good quality oil. They can afford it, and it makes them feel good.

I saw a show where the passenger of a car was making fun of the driver for using his turn-signals. The driver took his criticism in stride and said, "Driving is a pleasure for me. Using the turn signals is part of the experience." The OR Plush interior is part of the experience.

As a Tacoma newby, I also learned something about stock Toyota mud flaps and rusty frames.

I payed a little more for mine because I got the Corey and Trevor Convenients package.

I went into the dealer and told them exactly what I wanted, they looked in their system and there was 1 truck that matched in a 200 mile radius. That's the truck I bought.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
I have the tools. I have the ability. It’s like my suspension. I could have done it. It would have been easier than lowering all the cars I have done in the past. I just don’t want the stiff neck and sore back. I’ll pay someone to have the bloody knuckles.
I’d rather spend my energy, time, and blood, building something I really want/like/will keep forever. I make a lot of odd shit in the garage. Live edge tables with interesting welded bases, etc. I’m all about making something like lights from a Polaris Razor, and adapting them to look like they came stock on the Taco (still in the works). That shit is fun. Bolting on suspension, well that blows goats for dimes.

Do you have your wife’s keychain all long and dangly, full of sparkly objects, or are you just an ostrich driving a taco?

Seems like some people in this thread have a different opinion on what OTD means or they pay taxes at a later date. Adding in TTL IMO is useless to compare two deals because they vary too much (trade in value, tax rate, etc.). My OR had a sticker just under 40K and I got it for 34K. I could say my OTD was just over 35K but that was because I traded in a car and got 24.5 for it so I was taxed on less than 9K.

And I'm the guy that bought the OR and it will likely never leave the pavement. I bought it cause its what I wanted and I don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks. I have a SxS for an offroad toy.
