My father was a jack of all trades he tryed to get me to do more hands on stuff but me and him butted heads all the time

 

Actually I misspoke. The low profile RTT rack is 13" above the bed sides. I think mine is 15" ? its definitely taller than 13".

I used to have this, when I had a different tent. BAMF makes some awesome stuff. I highly recommend.

I weld for fun. Its not my profession. I am always learning, which also adds to the fun!

 

Cool man that's about where I want the height I measured the rtt is 13" high and from top of my roof rack to top of bed bars I measured 12"

That's perfect my roof rack sits 4" off the top.of the roof

 

tonneau cover coming off when bed bars go on so I can still use my bed

 

so you want it to be inline with your roof rack? Thats how I have mine set up now (or will after all these mods that I get finished, during quarantine)

 

That a roofnest rtt I want one but their way out of my price range wife will allow I probably get a divorce if I bought one lol

 

I still need to get a spare tire carrier I've been living the dangerous life not carrying my spare with me

 

I had one also. I had the Sparrow X - the one with the roof rack. I think they changed the name

 

I just like the flat profile and hard shell of those

 

You plan to do an awning

 

Thats what ive been working on yesterday. BAMF has a weld on awning mount that will end up looking like this. Im mounting mine on the driver side. Got one part welded on. Ill finish the other mount on Saturday. I bought an Amazon awning. 6.6'L x 8.2' W

 

I plan to put an awning on the roof rack I'm gonna relocate the ax and shovel to the bed bars and mount awing on passenger side I'm.gonna have the rtt open to the passenger side to

 

Man those bed bars are beefy tempted to impulse buy them right now the only thing holding me back is the 6 week lead time

 

I had an ARB 4' awning on my roof rack at one point. I didnt like it that much because it barely created enough shade for 2 chairs.

It should go by quick in quarantine. Make some other projects for yourself, and in no time you will have a sweet bed rack!

I was thinking about a 6 ft awning just have a foot pass the windshield I have a lb of I put the bed bars all the way back should give me enough room to have a foot behind the cab to

 

how is your roof rack attached? im just worried about the stress that it puts on the attachment points.

 

Rivets alot of them wasnt fun let's say roof rack is permanent now lol

 

I see you have an access cab to so you know there was no pre drilled holes in the roof
