Only reason I’m going with the 3” lift is bc I can get one from a buddy for a great deal ... I think the 2” lift would look fit the 265/75/16s better .

OK, so you should do some research. From everything I’ve read, on the Tacoma, no expert here, but a 3” lift changes a lot of the geometry of the suspension. What does that mean? Might be hard to get it aligned, might not be good for driveshaft angle, may need to replace needle bearing.

Plus, what kind of lift, we talking spacers, and blocks? so many questions, and answers.

Yea I understand either am I lol.. I was also thinking the same thing it’s a pretty big lift so I thought it would also change a lot of things .. that’s wat I’m trying to avoid I just want to throw on the SCS f5 -20 offset wheels I have with a nice small lift to give the truck a nicer stance without doing so much work .

Yeah, so there are probably cheaper, and better served options for you. SCS wheels are bomb. You don’t need, nor want a 3” lift, imo.

So you think I wouldn’t have any rubbing with the 265/75/16s -20 offset on a 2” lift ?

mostly for people who hate the way it drives currently. some trucks drive well from factory though so your one of the lucky ones.

I don’t think I’m lucky. I think it has to do more with reasonable expectations from one’s purchase and modification process. It’s not a race car but it’s faster than plenty out on the road. Plenty of power for a pick up, although more power is always welcome.

power is not the issue it's just geared like shit from toyota. 3.90s and 2 overdrive gears that are never used is crazy. I just want it to stop hunting and drive normal.

it’s a double edged sword man. Got keep in mind that the gearing was chosen to appease the green Earthers. Just use ECT on and workout that calve, son!

265/75 probably with about a 2 ish lift now. Havent measured in awhile. I drive pretty far on weekends to take the hit on gas and early wear on components for now. Might do it later. I have noticed a lot more 265/75 than 285s in NV. Funny enough when I went down to the California everyone with a Tacoma has 33s. Not very good image but it’s all I got on the phone.
