speaking of valves, I accidentally dropped my tank off of my cart and the regulator gauge broke. Can anyone recommend one that is not $100 ?

Thanks. Does anything else need to be added to that? Some other ones that I saw, had a different fitting going to the tank

    upload_2020-4-23_21-30-18.jpg

I really need to finish the cart so that the tank is not just balancing on a piece of wood.

The one pictured just has an adapter so it can be used with a straight CO2 tank. The two tanks use a different kind of fittings. It will work with what you have now.

I know this has probable been talked about many times but I've been stick welding with an old miller thunderbolt and I'm looking around for a good mig welder. Anything under 800 would be great but I would like the option of running it with gas and/or flux core wire. What brand would you guys recommend I've heard everlast, Eastwood, and Hobart are all good.

Any of those sound good, if you can find a used one you may be able to buy more welder for the same money. Just a thought.

Drop bracket lift and booger welds
Wire size? Set it up based on what you are welding and what the inside panel recommends. If the stuff you are welding to the frame is thicker than the frame itself keep the heat more towards that part. From what I have seen with welding on the frame so far is it’s less about being concerned about burn through and more about not putting too much heat in one spot and letting things cool off.

Has worked out okay for me so far.

Also @EatSleepTacos it def sounds like you have a nasty leak too if it emptied that quickly. Check both at the tank and on the back of the welder for sure. I have a habit now of checking my propane heater, C25 tank, and compressor before I head in every night. Having your compressor kick on at 3 am is a very good way to get your wife pissed at you.

When do you start on the second one Now you have the measurements should go faster .

What do you think you would sell it for paying yourself a decent rate ??

This was just a one-off thing, I don't plan on making any more. The mounting points bolt to my rear leaf hangers and the side wings are for a bobbed bed so it wouldn't work on anything else. I have way too many hours into it to make it worth it to offer bumpers for sale even if I were to build them for normal trucks.

I've built some things for myself and people ask "what you charge to make me one?" I say "you couldn't afford it"

Find some scrap pieces about the size your working on set your welder up .

With those welders you have so many variables .

Even the time of day can change output.

I can give you numbers you tell me wire size flux or hard wire if hard wire which shielding gas

If the puddle gets to Hot let go of the trigger control the heat with the trigger .

Any burn through can be fixed .

LOL I've had people ask me that after I tubbed my firewall. I tell them $1,500. Oddly enough, no one has taken me up on that.

Then after you practice for a while you'll be welding by sound. I can listen to the other guy out here in the shop and tell he welds to fast and not enough heat.
