On left well used Randall Model 1 5" fighting knife, circa 1950. On right is Randall Model 14 7.5" attack knife with border patrol handle circa 2008.

My carbon custom Crooked River was delivered today. I wish they had green G10 as an option. Has anyone done RIT dye on benchmade tan G10?

Nade this knife years ago from a file. Obviously handle from a white birch in side yard, and abused a penny with a hammer to make the spacer.

I jumped on the bandwagon. I don’t regret it. This thing is light as a feather and I can’t even tell I’m carrying it. We’ll see how it holds up to hard use.

I do like the mini-bugout. Lots of options out there to customize it. But since I plan on getting the original 940 Osborne in the future I'll stay away from the mini-bugout. I will say that if I were to do it all over again and just getting into knives I'd probably opt for the bugout/mini-bugout over the griptilian series. They do look like simple great camping/outdoors knives. But then so are the 940s.

I like it because I like the shape but personally I do prefer the more organic "wood" on the original. I've got the Grizzly Creek which has the same plastic impregnated wood and it is a very nice knife.

I originally wanted and love that wood look. Yet i was intrigued on how the textured grip felt like on the ridge. It feels great, but i've seen reviews on how i'll last and peels. :notsure:
