I bought two on the 1up van trays. I have a 1x3 rectangle tube welded to my bed bars. Then I bolted the 1up trays to that. So I can use the 1x3 to carry other things when not carrying my bike. Doesn’t stick out too far either.

The trails here are mostly loose over hard pack. So it gets super dusty. I saw that ForkBoost had good reviews and it’s mainly to help clean the dust off out of the seals after rides.

In another form similar, here's mine. But with Thule Sidearms. I had little 6" bump outs welded to my bed bars when made. I wish i went with atleast 8" instead for a little extra room as my sidearm mounting points are close to the very edge of the bar. It seemed a little sketchy at first with the bikes so high but the Thules hold them pretty well.

All you guys that run bikes on the sides of your beds, don’t you worry about the bars snagging stuff in tight quarters? Not just off road, but sidewalk trees, etc. it seems like a great way to have the bikes lower, keep the bed accessible, not block the tailgate like a hitch rack etc, but I dunno, seems like a recipe for big damage$$.

No concerns at all for me. At first i just didnt like how they felt so high especially at highway speeds. But i put my body weight down on the Sidearms when i tighten to hold it to the wheel. I will usually put 1 ratchet strap on each bike for safe measures. I never had concern for snagging things like that though i can def see what you mean, I dont off-road my truck often (Probably 5-10 times out of the year). And when i do i probably dont have this all setup. But ive been in traffic before in between two 18 Wheelers and they were pretty clear from those. But yes, i did not want to block my tailgate, or have to take the bikes off every time i needed something out of the bed i had to use the tailgate for. Swingout add-ons get expensive too.

Thru-axle racks would lower the profile of the setup and make it less sketchy, but i dont want to take on/off my wheel every ride.

The key is buying a house that you want and then finding a woman. Win-win

Haha good way to put it! I told her i would never buy a house without a garage and left it at that. Shes a nut for thinking its not a necessity, Lol for some reason she tends to forget we have 11Ft. Paddle boards, mountain bikes, kayaks, my RTT, not to mention i need my space to stay occupied and do stupid projects that come up. I'm hoping there will be some steals out there on the market after this pandemic is over.
