If we can get a few trail guides, I think the trail access to there could be done with a car trailer. Actually I have a friend with a 2500 and potentially the ability to get it out of there. I’ll send him some info but that won’t be able to happen tomorrow he’s in NH.

Are we doing clean up tomorrow?

That would be fun. What to do with it after we get it to the road though.. that would be a different question haha

We should set up a day to do that later in the summer, after all this covid-19 shit dies down

I’ve been reminded scrap yards need a title to take it. I’ll have to see what is needed to see if I can apply for a title or if one is really needed in its current condition.

I could move it on the road but I don’t think my truck could pull it out of the woods. I think if you go north along the pond and then out the logging road, wouldn’t be a bad pull to get it to B roads. I’ll make notes while I’m out this weekend.

anyone have a 1/2 ton and a car trailer?:rofl::rofl:

    Aww :( next time!

Tomorrow: Who's in for trail clean up, and where are y'all coming from? I'll plan a meet up spot with that.

Wait until the coronavirus is over. Some hardo might see everyone driving back there and try and be a hero and bring unwanted attention to everyone there.

well that just makes too much sense. But you might be right we could postpone trail cleanup. Trash isn’t going anywhere in the meantime :(

Anyone who’s been there knows there’s a few spots we are not supposed to be so there’s no sense drawing attention to ourselves even though it’s for a positive reason.

I think you have the right thinking. Why go looking for trouble with a parade of out of state plates.

....I have RI plates :D but I’ll agree. If it was a few trucks that’s one thing but it seems like there’s a lot of interest and 10ish trucks all decked out with off road goodies does tend to attract attention....

I've been driving for 14 years. Gotten three speeding tickets in that time. Two of them in the last 12 months with my truck and all my crap bolted on the top. Both times for doing 10 mph over the limit. Truck attracts way more attention.

Hahah I have owned nine cars and two trucks over the years, and have been pulled over in everything but one of the cars and the two trucks. I genuinely go easier on trucks, mostly for fuel economy.
There’s definitely some validity to avoiding stirring up shit during the pandemic. Especially if the area is popular with families/hikers/etc. I was out cruising around Cockaponset two weekends ago and the place was mobbed with people out for a walk in the woods. Definitely put a damper on exploring dirt road offshoots and sandpits and such, didn’t want to attract the wrong kind of attention. I’ve never seen so many people out there and I think it’s because people are tired of being stuck at home, and don’t have kids’ sports games to go to and weekend social gatherings, errands to run, etc.

Yeah but when you look like this with out of state plates, kinda hard to miss.

Yeah. Fortunately I’m all stock now but that won’t last long.

anyway I think it’s probably a good idea and an agreement. Trail clean up postponed until we’re free from tyranny! :D that actually works for me rather than have a fridge sitting around my yard for a few weeks until they start taking them again.

Since moving here I've noticed people in NE are pretty secretive about their wheeling spots but could someone post a nearby town to this spot so I can get a rough idea of whether this trip would be worth the drive.

because population density is so tight everyone owns everything. There’s nowhere to go and when trails are publicly posted everywhere they get swarmed and then gates go up a year later.

With no traffic and if you’re hauling ass you can probably be there in 2.5 hours from Saratoga but I’d count on 3.

even a prinsu rack attracts attention or similar. Let alone when you have about five mud covered trucks together in a group hurtling down the road at 40 with all different state plates when we aren’t allowed outside our own driveways :D

I haven’t noticed any attention but I’m completely stock right now aside from an HID low beam conversion but that doesn’t attract attention. One reason I might actually keep the factory 16 rims because they’re so un flashy.

When you can afford to have all the off road goodies and toys plastered on your truck, you’re more likely to pay a ticket and make it go away than fight it and take the time in court and the expense of court time.
