I had the opportunity to talk with the seller today; He says NADA is like $18K and is pretty firm on the price...

16 year old truck with 38 or whatever thousand miles, that's 2,000 miles a year, no way.

Dakota Digital will ship dash kits with a pre-programmed mileage if the customer requests it...

I wonder how a Taco would look with a digital dash? Seems to me like it just wouldn't fit; I love my orange backlit analog gauges!

It's possible...my '04 just hit 70K. I had a company provided work rig for the first 5 years-ish, so the truck was just nights and weekends. If I still had that for these past 10 yrs it would probably be right there?

I paid a few grand more than that for my 04 in 2016, with 24k on it. Same truck basically, but with a manual and stock except for TRD supercharger.

I've put nearly 65k on it since then and the only issues I've had came from beating on it offroad.

Not that odd, we've seen two other Gen1s listed for sale on this forum in the last few weeks that had similar mileage. Lots of people buy these trucks as second vehicles for driving in snow, going to the dump
or just to use as utility vehicles around their home or businesses.

I'd have no issue what-so-ever paying $14,500 for that Tacoma as long as it checks out and has no rust. That is if I didn't already have two Tacomas. You could very possibly get another 150,000>200,000 miles and 10-15 years out of that truck.

I doubt he will come down if the seller is biding his time for the right buyer.
Sounds like a BSr too with that NADA quote.
    Good luck!

Buy it, 14.5k is not outrageous for a clean one and the truck will easily go 10 to 15 years with minimal work, maybe a lot more if it is a 2nd car and garaged. Don’t crash it though because you might have a hard time getting insurance to pay you what you paid for it. Or you can plop down 40k on a new one that’ll probably last around the same amount of time.

    OME and worth every penny.
I used to be surprised at the prices because 'truck'. but now ALL trucks are going up so much (saw a '06 reg cab Chevy w. 100K for 10G the other day. Actually with a 5.3, it was prob. not overpriced....well....you know) that this is just all falling into line.
50K for a new one will do that.
