That’s how it’s supposed to work. Are you saying it’s a problem for you or just reporting the facts?

I use a Scangauge to monitor which gear I’m actually in. No question if I got TC unlock or down a gear.

I don't have a scanguage or anything like that.
I was just throwing out my two cents on MY way of telling whether it's downshifting or not.

Is there a PID for monitoring what gear the AT is in? I don't thknk mine will show that but I could be wrong.

Do all 2016+ automatic Tacoma's share the same transmissions and differential gearing ratios? I find my 2017 transmission gearing to be weird and widely spaced gears.

Same gears in all the automatics 2016-2020. Different ECU code revisions though.

Also some of the early trucks had low Transmission and differential fluid

With Ovtune, a 2016 should run the exact same as a 2020? Is that correct?

I’d say the exact same is probably unlikely but they should be pretty close.

They will have different code bases and then OVtune is adding features on each of the respective base tunes. They’ll end up being quite similar but there may still be some small differences.

You cant just flash a 2016 truck with the ECU code from a 2020 truck.

It will not. Because a 2020 has additional settings for cruise control, for example.

But it will be 90% the same.

    Also -
remaining vF tuner keys will be emailed this weekend.
remaining p5F keys will be emailed this weekend.

This weekend Tacoma 3.5L will be available for order on vF Tuner for new customers.
This will include base vF tuner and Tune add-on pack
Do not order if you unless you don't mind waiting until May 1rst for access. I am only offering it to make keys ahead of release day.

no cables are in stock though. You will need a J2534 cable to program.

www.tactrix.com (dunno the wait times..they provide cables to us, we've been waiting a while)

Do you have a code for the converter status? The one I found from ScanGauge doesn't work.

Trans temps only. TF1 is pan, TF2 is TC
When the TC is unlocked you’ll know it.

    There's a PID for TC status In fusion. It's a 1 or 0

Just because I want to play with something.
I had to go and check, and yes, mine did a big update as well to firmware 02.04.
I'm guessing there is still no new OFT files to upload, as the multiple people that have asked received no replies.

edit - see reply in post below this one, thanks OV

new OFT files will be available once 2.0 is sorted out.
I do need to send a few MT guys their 2.0 finals, but for AT it's still being worked on

Please don't blow me up for asking this. I have to exchange my dongle (mini black one) for the new tune. I hope to get 2.0F and tuner ability to change minor things like shift points. Does anyone have a link to clear instructions on the trade in process? There's about a bazillion pages in here and I can't find it.

With all of these new changes, I’m wondering if I am out of luck.

I see 2.0 is/has been released so I was planing on upgrading. However I lost my dongle after the last tune update I did when gear lock first came out.

Is there a process to get a replacement single or no and I have to switch to this vf tuner thing.
