Took out the driver front spindle and started to press the hub out. It popped out and when I go to take the spindle, I found that the bearing melted to the spindle breaking the bottom part of the spindle that holds the bearing snap ring. Not to mention that that other broken half is stuck on the hub. What a morning. Now I have to wait till tomorrow because my truck is down and my wife iz working a 12. By the time she comes home everything will be closed

This is the hub with the half broken bearing stuck on the shaft.

Inner bearing races staying on spindles/shafts is pretty common. If you have one a MAP gas/oxy torch and heating it up will remove it quickly (propane torches work just take longer in my experience). Just heat up the race and spin the spindle so it heats the race 360 and once it gets hot enough itll just drop off. If you have the end of the spindle flat you might need to finish knocking it off with a punch. Beats the other option of cutting it off IMO. An induction heater with a coil around the race is even better but not many people have an induction heater

Where are you located? Where would you order the part from? I'm sure we could figure out a local TWEX run to help out....

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Just got a shipping notice from Northern Tool - they got the battery shipped out today, about a month sooner than expected. Happy Friday!

@busmup808 this or take a cut off wheel and cut diagonally through the race. Watch your depth so you don’t hit the spindle, Wanna be 95% of the way through. Once you’ve cut through as much as possible take a chisel and place it in the groove of the cut you just made and pound on it. The races are hardened and will split. Sometimes cutting one side works, you might have to make two cuts 180° opposite of each other though

And wear safety glasses, hardened metal will do some gnarly things

I like that idea. Where does one get a left hand drill bit?
I got a broken bolt removed from an aluminum cylinder head with an EDM (electronic discharge machine) once, some machine shops have them. Worth it for a high value part.

I’ve broken my fair share of bolts off in dirt bikes, particularly when installing clutches. If I have a little bur to work with I usually can back them out with a jewelers screwdriver if I can’t get it then I move to left hand drill bits and extractors. Bigger broke off, stripped or seized shit like exhaust manifold bolts usually tack weld a cheapo wrench on it and beat it with a hammer.
