I sold the Niner in early 2017 IIRC, only had it for a season. There's been a few bikes in between but this is the first hard tail in a long while. It's quite the change going from longer travel FS bikes to a hardtail but I like it so far. It definitely feels different considering there isn't as much squish but the steel feeling is really nice.

    That’s awesome!
    Thanks for the trail building!
I live down the street from Soquel Demonstration Forest. I don’t have any pics readily available with my bike but here’s one (technically not Demo but close by)

Nice! Where did you build? That’s the fun stuff I don’t do. LoL I’m too old for jumps like that. My operator grew up building that stuff on his family property. Looks so similar to our area. Moving dirt is fun

Awesome! I’m a fan of hard tails especially for climbing which is my favorite. The versatility of FS is nice and technology is good enough to allow for climbing without losing too much energy but nothing beats a hard tail overall.

Lucky! Soquel is awesome. MBOSC is a partnering organization who’ve been my go to for advice and they have an awesome crew of trail builders. Beautiful area!!

I love it! You guys just got Bill’s trail opened up to MTB in your area over the last couple days. Pretty amazing to get that change of use to go through. Nice trailer setup you’ve got there.

Everywhere from Austin Tx, to Salt Lake City to southern Oregon. I traveled alot thanks to generous sponsors and a carefree attitude (read: Irresponsible with no concern for my financial future). There werent many private "pro level" trails in the western states I didnt move some dirt at, ride or at least know about from 2010-2015 (usually avoided the public spots as theyre typically more beat down, less gnarly and full of squids). Those pictures were from some local spots in Santa Cruz (aptos technically i guess). The last photo is from a small local set in Davis.

Rode alot of Parks/Ramps too, the occasional content/festival if i was in town. Usually got hammered and was a judge for most contests instead, contests and the whole "im better than you" scene was never really my thing.

So I told myself I would ride it rigid for at least one ride but the fork came before the bike so yeah, that never happened.
I really like it though. Bikes super fun and playful but I still need to get into better shape. Set it up as tubeless yesterday, hopefully a shorter stem and different handlebars this coming week, then a dropper post to follow.

I always forget this color exists, and then everytime I see it in the wilds it makes me question every choice I've made in life. Damn.

Thats awesome! I ride around there a lot. We like going for anguin to lake henessey. That’s awesome that you helped build those trails. So fun to ride! I have a 2013 SC Nomad.
