I stand corrected. I've gone to lowes in person looking for specific tools like a torx 27 for example. Oh yeah you can buy it. As part of a $157 package but not individually.

Guess it's good if you need a set and ya know....not just 1 piece.

Mahaloz Brotha! My cuz’n called me after I posted and picked me up to go to the junkyard to get another L spindle. Long story short is I got the parts and it is all pressed in. Taking a dinner break to feed my son and then back in the garage to assemble. Heat didn’t work for me as I only had Ace propane fuel cylinder. Did the dremal thing and it worked.

 

So I just remembered a good fix to re-arch your dakars... Go flex them out and let one side of the axle completely become weightless, then slammit into reverse. That should cantilever and invert the shackle the wrong way forcing a positive arch to be formed. You'll have to flex it out again but continue In a forward motion to bring the shackle back to normal location. Repeat with other side, and boom no more saggy flat ass.

It also helps if you get stuck in a muddy ass lake bed, such as lake Roosevelt and have a Chevy take running starts and jerk your truck backwards inches at a time. It really gets that shackle inverted in a hurry.

FYI, this is not a recommended way to re-arch leaf springs. I cannot be held responsible if anyone chooses to try this....


Damn was looking closer at these pics, my frame looks way worse than I remember. Big difference now.





Notice the gap between the main leaf and the next leaf below it with the shackle inverted? It's a bit of an eye fuck with the mud and rusty frame all blending in. You can really notice it in the last pic inside the wheel well. There's a good amount of daylight shown through that gap.

 

What size dimensions plate steel are you looking for Dain? The stuff that's usually thrown in the scrap pile is often bits that look like left over cookie dough. I've got a few pieces from 1/8th up to 1" but the thicker pieces are more like chunks than sheets lol.

How much is gas by you? It's insanely cheap all over the country and $2.80 where I am

 

Last week when i was dropping off the kid at the exes place i noticed sub $2 a gallon prices near Sumner. I’m at less that 1/4 tank and dropping him off tomorrow

 

The gas station .3 Miles away is almost 80 cents more per gallon than it is 4 Miles away on a major route for me. Both are 76.

 

I finally got the part numbers I need from icon, which for some stupid reason I couldn't order directly from them and after contacting 2 different vendors found out only authorized shock rebuild vendors can get them, I'm still on hold trying to figure out if I can get them from an authorized vendor whos trying to get them from icon.





Getting kicked in the nuts is quicker and less painful than this process has been dealing with ICON just to even get a reply to an email let alone a couple of washers and a top hat mount.

 

What parts are you trying to get? I had no issues getting parts for mine. But i went through @Icon_Adrian on here. Call up Downsouth Motorsports too and they will probably order whatever you need for you. They have done that in the past for me.
