If you have ever taking AVS off of a vehicle you would know why most go with weathertech. After the AVS has baked on in the sun the adhesive is a pain in the rear and can damage the paint. Do the future buyer a favor and be nice and go with weathertech............................

AVS uses adhesive and weathertech the channel. I purchased a used 16 tacoma that was located in the south all of it's life about 8 months ago and it had AVS installed. I'm a detailer and decided to remove them and go with weathertech instead. I used every method that I knew of to get the adhesive off and I mean everything but had to end up using a sharp plastic tool to SCRAP it off. Sure I used scratch remover and rubbing compound but there were still scratched in the paint..............oh crap.....................

Like this, they mount inside the channel, nothing attaches to the paint.

just be careful if you have your windows tinted. make sure you clean inside your window slit (where your window slides into the slit) so it doesnt scratch the inside of your tinted windows

The tint is on the inside and doesn't make contact with visor. The visor will only make contact to the outside of the window.

They make an eraser that is used with a drill and it will take off the double sided tape like nobody's business.

What I meant to say was. If you have any dirt or debris inside your window sill. The pressure from the visor when rolling up or down can scratch the inside of the tint. Like in the picture

I had some WeatherTech window vents before that go inside the windows instead of being glued on the outside of the window but IMHO window vents arent worth it because if there are lots of bugs where you live the bugs will get inside of the truck via the little crack that you leave in the window vent (that means flys, roaches, and other creepy crawlies that will be attracted to the shade). If you still have your mind made up about getting window vents though check out the WeatherTech inside window frame vents that dont use any glue (they go inside the window frame).

Yup! My AVS in channel definitely increases wind noise, but then again, so did the stick on ones I had on my '07.

if your not hung up on the difference in cost, in my opinion WeatherTech is a better quality product. No adhesive with the in-channel version and the plastic is sturdy with perfectly molded edges. The AVS stick on version I had on my truck previously arrived scratched and had many unfinished edges. Maybe a got a bad set, but I've read others complain about the same issue, so it may be quality control crap shoot.

I bought the weathertech vent visors for my 2020 tacoma. I saw a sketch on here some where on how the back window vents sit in the channel with the clips. However, I can not locate a close up of how the clips, window and window channel merge when closed. Can someone point me to a install video that shows a close up with exactly how the visor is installed with the clip? Or take a pic of how you did it. I think the visor is in between the window and clip. Not outside the clip, where the clip comes in contact to the window. Thanks!

I’m going with avs only cause Amazon has a used set for 10 bucks It says like new and sold from amazon warehouse so I’m hoping it’s just a returned item. If they arrive without adhesive then I’ll just return them.
