I would, but I've spent a lot of money here lately on 3rd gen parts. I will pick up a door and fender for my 2nd gen though. I'll mod it as finances come along.

Did you put greasable pins on the front and rear of your springs?

I am likely also going to sell the first HC rear I make to build some money for other projects.

Yep, I wanted to use the greasable pins in my shackle too, but didn't want to mess with removing the factory bushing, looks like it would be a pain in the ass. I just recently put 2 or 3 pumps of grease in while I was doing my flip kit. Quiet as a dormouse when I get in my bed and jump up and down.

My 2 degree shims came in from 4crawler, but after my suspension has settled, the vibes have gone away. So I may just put these shims up for sale.

My springs have started squeaking but I think its the bushing I need front pins, I've got one set of rear pins. I also heard that the grease able pins rub on the archive hammer hangers so didn't want to order another set and not be able to use them.

I've been looking at new spring hangers for my 2nd gen. I really like the BAMF ones!

I have no squeaks and I don’t have greaseable bolts. The vast majority of leaf springs in the world don’t have greasable bolts.

don’t create a weak spot to maybe stop a noise.

I'm pretty positive I didn't get enough grease in there on install and that's my squeak. Think I could get enough spray grease in there?

Drop the spring and stick some grease in there with your finger.

did you grease the outside of the bushing that touches the spring eye?

Yea I think most of the grease wiped off when i shoved the bushing in there, may try and spray some white lithium on there. I got a lca bushing does the same thing when it rains squeaks then i spray some and its fine.

part of your issue could be caused by greasing the outside of the bushing. You don’t want to grease that part because it’s not supposed to move.

Yeah, just like how factory bushings are pressed into the eyes of the leaf springs, they can't rotate inside the eyes. The only rotation should be between the bolt and the sleeve, or in the case of poly bushings, between the bolt/pin, sleeve, and also the sleeve can rotate between the ID of the bushing.

Damn, they are closing the Goodyear plant in Gadsden, permanently. My father worked for 33 years there and retired from that Goodyear plant. That place gave my family the chances that we had, for a better opportunity, in a better country. The closing of Gulf State Steel back in 2000 took a great big toll. The closing of Goodyear is going to turn this place into an economic depression. A ghost town. It kinda saddens me really.

Wow, never good to hear that sort of thing.

How many people work out there, do you know?

When my father worked out there, it was around 2200 employees. Ever since he retired in the early 2000s, it has been steadily going downhill. It was only a few hundred working there, when they recently closed the plant.
