    Yeah that's what i figured, where it's overkill and i'll most likely never actually pull a full 150A, the 100A, or even whatever enough to trigger a fuse. - maybe if i want to learn how to stick weld at Ardbeg because of a tie-rod just going bye-bye.
    :rolleyes: it's that or ratchet straps.

    But between the battery and the first set of breakers - I kinda want to get 1-2 feet (per breaker) of 1/0 cable for just the safety of isolating the weakest part of my system. It's like $5 a foot anyways so it's not breaking the bank, will only need 4-6 feet at the absolute most. Unless i put in the second battery on the passenger side, then i need a 7-8 foot cable to work with the system, but that's far in the future at this point.

    My thought process is as follows;
    By running the 1/0 cable, I am forcing a predictable chain of weakest links to occur within my system;

    • First link that i want to have fail are the fuses in the fuse box. They are easy to fix, easy to replace.
    God forbid something is to happen
    • Second link that i want to have fail are the 100A and 150A breakers. Easier to fix and reset the system, not easy to replace if it breaks.
    God forbid something is to happen
    • Third link that i want to fail are the 2 terminal fuses. Easy enough to replace, not as easy to find replacement fuses.
    God forbid something is to happen
    • Last link i want to have fail, are the cables. I've seen my fair share of Contractors using 200 foot extension cables across sites all nicely coiled at one end and running compressors, saws, lights, radios, fridges, chargers, etc etc etc. those coils can get HOT, seen one glow once - that was cool as heck. Granted, it will not be coiled and able to do that, but it doesn't mean i also want a pretty large LED to start under my hood...

    Anyways; If all of those fail, 2 things will probably have happened;
    1) my accessories no longer work
    2) i probably have a lightly used 3rd gen Tacoma TRD Offroad "Cement" Marshmallow edition for sale. Don't undercut me, I know what i got. As in it probably be burned to the ground:rofl:

    But yes 1/0 and even the #4 are waaaaaaaaaaaay overkill for my use-case.
    but i'll get the 1/0 wires between just the battery and breakers. And whenever i sit down and do the math between the breaker and fuse panel and i'll step down to either a #6 like @Canadianguy91 did, or the #10 as you recommend for the fuse box. Speaking of which, apparently the fuse box negative and positive buses are #10-32 studs, so that might be a better option if the math works out that way.

    Thank you so much for in insight on this, actually thank you.

    This is a solid Video, thanks Bud!

    Why? If throttle response is an issue, flash with OVTune or get a pedal controller like iDrive or Pedal Commander.

    You lose cruise control with a cable throttle.

    No, computers are the issue. Give me old school carburetor in this modern Tacoma:crapstorm:

    I kid, how can I live without adaptive cruise control:anonymous:

    Well looks like I'd have to buy the whole 2020 mirror assembly at over $900 USF each just to get that little camera holder plastic piece...
    Nope...
    $600 USF for each mirror camera...
    Nope....

    Just not worth it for that much.

    Lol restoring old cars with factory parts is a cheaper hobby that adding toys to a modern vehicle...

    Yes those cars had cruise control as part of their design. Not so easy to add/restore cruise control if you convert a throttle by wire vehicle to cable.

    Im pretty new to boats
    I like how simple the ones ive worked on are but man they are tight to work on. gotta be a damn contortionist sometimes.
    i like working on anything and everything though i find it relaxing. (Untill a bolt breaks)

    man those look fun as hell, but rare now. Even stand up jetskis are hard to find
