Have you used their paint? It gets poor reviews which is why I was hesitant to go with them... but I am aware cabinet enamels need to be used in a certain ways and the Amateur is not going to use it right then leave an in accurate review.

Ben Moore ADVANCE is my go to for cabinets and trim work. It does take a while to dry and to cure, it is super thin so don't start in a corner with a full brush, and make sure you go back to check your work because it will run if you put it on heavy. But it holds up really well once dried, and it goes a long way. Finish dries really smooth even when brushing and rolling, almost like it was sprayed.

It's 15.2 cu ft of concrete or 1/2 yard. Don't know how many bags that is, we buy ours by the truck.

Just poured the last truck on this just now. 300+ yrds.

Not on cabinets. I always used ace hardware brand to paint the rooms and was fine with it. Tried valspar once and didn’t like the way it rolled on at all. Then when we had an addition put on the painters told us to pick out a color and what store to go to. Said they will only use Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams. They painted a few rooms and said they would be back tomorrow to put a second coat on and when they left I borrowed some of there white pant to paint the inside of a closet downstairs. As small as it was I was amazed at how nice it went on.

The cabinets and counter came in around $8,000 minus the $1,200 I got for selling the installed stuff put me around $6,800. I did all the work myself so my "free" labor saved a ton. The builder wanted $20K for a custom kitchen and a 3 month delay until we could even speak to the custom kitchen designer. I was renting a place to live so that would have added $5,400 in rent. (not to mention 3 more months in a cracker box of a place.) Having already done a complete kitchen tear out and remodel in my previous house, I knew I could do better than $25,400.

As for the builder lets just say I dislike them in the same way political people dislike the last presidential candidates from the other side.

We'd starve without a microwave :hungry:. I'm not a fan of the over the stove microwave. They don't vent as well, and when the heat of the stove kills them they are expensive to replace. So, our microwave is in the pantry.

Should also say when I bought it from Lowe’s I didn’t like it. Had a few people tell me to buy it at a paint store because it’s not the same as the one you buy at Lowe. It’s made specifically for them. Don’t know how true that is.

Another vote for Sherwin Williams. The interior designer that picked the colors for my house chose all SW paint and that's all our painting crew at work uses. Seemed to cover better and rolls nicer in my son's room than Behr did for the patio wall.

Anybody know what pressure I should set my compressor at for my Brad nailer? I’m just now starting to lay my red oak flooring and want to start out Brad nailing the first row instead of blind nailing.

edit: 70 psi works just fine :D

170 sounds very high. I think the pin nailer was at 60 (I know they're different but still). Is it not over driving the nails?

could you continue the fascia line of the main roof over that area and over frame the garage roof with a shallower pitch ?

I accidentally put 170 in the first post and realized I meant to say 70. Which is pretty perfect.

Finally, after 7 years of gravel driveway/sidewalk, I get a proper parking spot for my Taco! So excited. Funny thing is I am most excited for the pad for my grills, smoker, and prep table!

How long are you all waiting until you stain fresh pressure treated lumber? What brand water based stain are you using? They’ve stopped selling oil based stain around here. Also need recommendations for a power sprayer for water based stain/latex paint.

I used paint, not stain, and it remains to be seen if painting it right away was a bad idea or not but my patio has weathered its first North Dakota winter alright.

    20200425_143456.jpg

The patio was brushed but the Adirondack chairs were painted with my ancient Wagner. It did a great job in my makeshift paint booth.
