The fact that many of the guys on here that are multi-taco owners, early 3rd gen and now 2020 owners, are saying that the 2020 drives 'almost normal' tells you how hosed the early factory tunes were. The hardware certainly hasn't changed. At least not in the drivetrain. I bought my taco knowing that I was buying OVTune if needed. It was needed.

I had bought this truck a few months ago with it only having 12k miles on it and it had already been through 2 owners...I think I understand why.

What year? Depending on where you live, there are lots of folks probably willing to give you a spin in their tuned truck. Well, pending Covid clearance... you might have cooties after all.

I'm cootie free ...I think
My truck is a 2017. I'm running the 2.0 Test version..? I think my magic cure all would be VfTuner, so I can assign my own shift points.

For peace of mind, I flashed 04B04+2.0+Base+87+OL+34-36+4.88 Test file today and didn't get the startup stumble as several have reported. It could be that outside temp was only 50 degrees this morning. Only 60 miles on this tune, but wow. It keeps getting better and better. I love the tip-in and the pull from 3rd-4th is damn near perfect.

Anyone know if there is a 5.29 tune for 19770? Thanks

I think any older tune you have to email them and ask for it. But I don't know if there is a 5.29 option.

Out of curiosity, how do you reset the LV and AT? I didn’t notice these steps in the OV videos

Any Mac users here still on Yosemite (or not on Sierra yet)? I'm trying to figure out how to bootcamp my Mac with Win10 and get past the damn 4GB file limit of Fat32 without forcing my Mac to upgrade to High Sierra.

    PM is fine.

Reading the first page I was wondering if I could get clarification on the 5.29 2.0 final tune. It says user request. Is the 2.0 final tune gonna be available in 5.29 gear option for flash kit only users who do not buy the VF option? Thanks

Im still trying to figure out gearlock. At times, i know it is working. Keeping it in S6 driving 70mph and decreasing speed wont result in downshift. However if i come to a stop on S6 and restart, i know it is prigressing through the gears as though im not on gearlock. I know others have mention how gearlock should work, but im hoping ovtune can clarify if this is what is intended to happen in gearlock mode. Also, ovtune mentioned that ect is not required for gearlock, but what does it mean for smode and ect enabled? Gearlock?

    Ok so after 100 miles on 2.0 87 31 - 33 tune here is what i noticed.

    complaints before 2.0 beta 19800:
Coming out of corner truck was mostly in the wrong gear, bogging.
Inconsistent shift points from day to day.
Seemed sluggish in power, tranny felt like there was alot of slap.

now after running new 2.0 file:
Coming out of corner truck is spot on in the right gear and has power to accelerate and no jerkiness, smooth.
Only about 120 miles and shifting seems very consistent.
Tranny feels very tight and connected. Does not feel sloppy anymore.

Very well done matt, this is exactly what i was hoping the truck should drive like. In the taco club I'm in, I'm sure after taking my truck for a spin you will def get some purchases from this tune. Excellent work, thanks!

You don't have a manual dude. If you go too far down in a gear that you shouldn't be in, it will downshift. You can't come to a stop in 6th and expect it to stay in 6th. Even in a manual you'd stall. Not to mention it would take you twenty years to get back up to speed taking off in 6th.

Only doing it for the purpose of testing the limits of gearlocking. And what of smode and ect on? Still gearlock? Someone memtioned tow mode? Whats the difference?

Unless @OVTune has changed implementation of the 2.0 final gearlock feature, it will be:

    S=GL
    S+ECT=GL (Atkinson elimination) Tow Mode

With 2.0 final, the use of ECT button in S mode would be akin to a Tow/Haul mode button in other trucks.

If the rpms drop too low the truck will downshift to prevent from stalling

This sounds like 2.0 final is making the tranny find 2nd gear instead of remaining in 3rd on a slowdown/turn situation.

From day 1 on stock, 1.05, or a 2.0 beta tune mine has never used 2nd gear on a slowdown (I know that ‘cause I’m monitoring current gear with a scangauge) so it bogs under light throttle or jumps to 1st with heavy pedal. My workaround is to use S mode and get it into the correct gear manually.

Good to hear that the last issue I have with my 04A61 may be gone in 2.0 final.
