I think the article I saw was just over 400 people employed there still.

 

I know there weren't many working there when they closed. The huge parking lot is vacant, except for a handful of cars. On the plus side, my father gets $250 vouchers every year towards Goodyear tires, for the rest of his life. The pension is nice as well. Needless to say, both my parents' vehicles are always sporting Goodyear tires!

 

Anyone have their spare 16 inch wheel setting around they want to sell?

Hi Folks, just wanted to drop in and say Hi from Tuscaloosa. Appreciate all the great info! Just got a 2012 4x4 4cyl. and really like it so far. It has 169k on the clock but seems to be pretty solid. I need to replace the plastic coolant bypass pipe before it hurls and put in a clock spring for the horn, change all fluids, v belt and tensioner/idlers, plugs, etc.. but I enjoy having something to tinker with in the garage. TW sure is a big help for DIYers like me. Y'all take care!
