These plugs have 41,716 miles on them and I drive highway about 30 miles a day I use shell gas. From the looks of the plugs they probably should be changed about every 30-k.

I recently picked up a 2007 with 175K mile and I am 99% sure still had the original plugs (3 NGK/ 3 Denso). Needless to say it ran ALOT better after I put in new plugs.

Plugs look good, from the pictures. Did you check to see if the gap was OK, near .031" ? For the 2.7, 4 cyl. Doesn't the manual say change them 60K to 100K mi.? If they need changing at 30K to 40K, I'd think there was some other problem causing it. Just my opinion

I agree, I don't see anything wrong with those plugs.

Those plugs are fine. Could have easily gone other 25k on them, probably more.

I have 155k on my original plugs and notice no difference.

I checked the gap on the new plugs they were good , I also noticed a smoother idling engine and I agree the plugs looked great after 41,178 miles and could have gone another 25-k but I am very particular about my truck, and I want it to last I really like this truck it's such good quality.

I've got to side with the OP, I really like those that drive the Reg. cab. 4X4's. You change the plugs whenever you want to & I'll be on your side. Love the little Reg. cab 4X4

Yes they look great. But, umm, why are you changing iridium plugs at 41k? They can go twice that far, at least. They are designed to be long-life and IMO you are wasting time and money. I know you are particular about your truck, do what you want with your time and money. But this is really very overkill.

I thought the 2016+ had the Iridium plugs , not sure about the 2nd gen , I owned a 2017 with a 2.7 in the manual said only use Iridium in the manual .
I have not looked in the manual for my new to me 2015 with a whooping 16k on the 2.7
I will have to take a look in the manual .

Those look good. Gaps look good. Minimal wear on the electrodes. Easily gone another 40k on them with the way you’re driving.

How is removing perfectly good spark plugs and replacing them with new spark plugs going to increase the life of the truck?

Your truck your money... And you've done it twice at 85K Miles o_O Jesus.

I understand your point however, I work at a VW dealership so have access to tools and technicians but mostly i can feel subtle changes in the idle that most people would not care about but for me spending an extra forty dollars every 40-k miles is no big deal and it puts my paranoid mind at rest I also change my oil every 5-k and I use mobil one advance 15-k I run shell 93 octane and I wash and wax often.People are amazed at how clean and how well it runs.

That's what's listed in the manual - 30K. I never argue with people who build vehicles.

Four cylinder TR2-FE engine comes with Iridium Tipped plugs that are ranted for 100K Miles.
