Hey guys and gals. I’m new to the Tacoma world really. I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to do with the suspension and I want to keep it mostly stock height. I’d like to level the front with the back however and I’ve read that really the best way to do this is with the Bilstein 5100 all the way around. I’d like to do this and get a little bigger tire, 265/75/16.
My question is if someone has pics of this set up I’d like to see it. Also everything I find people doing this, they’re adding leafs to the rear and upgrading coils and doing a lot more than I thought I’d have to do. Is this required or can you simply go 5100 all the way around and then level the front and that’s it?

    I appreciate your help!

Just level the front of the truck with the rear. The front sits a bit lower due to the increased weight in the front.

You can put 5100's on the front only if desired. Probably needs about 1" of lift, but you should measure your own truck to determine appropriate setting of the 5100's. 265/75/16 should fit without rubbing if you're using factory wheels and not adding wheel spacers.

Okay cool I think my plan as of now would be just to level the front, and just use factory wheels for now. If I upgrade, it would probably be to the pro wheels! So can I put the 5100s on front and back and just have the setting at zero in the rear? No leafs or anything added. Sorry man I’ve been trying to learn this or find a good guide on here but couldn’t. If you know of one, let me know!

    Lots, straight from the factory.
I went with the 6112 in the front, with a diff drop, 1/4” spacer on top of the strut. Set to #5/#4
5100 in the rear with a 1” block.
    265/75/16 K02 Load Range E1. (Stock tire was a 245/70/16 load range C)

The lift and tires netted me 3.5”over stock height, and it sits level.

Not the best before and after pics, but it’s the best I have got.

The reason the rear sits higher is because you bought a truck, which the intended purpose is to carry or tow loads, this allows the rear suspension to compensate for extra weight. Leveling your truck will have you nose high (bro lean) any time you actually use the truck for what it was designed to do.

The rears aren’t adjustable. If you’re not changing to hight in the back you can leave the stock shocks in and just use front 5100s to get your desired lift.

IMHO, you bought a truck, leave some rake, lift it front and back.

For what it’s worth, 5100s up front and AAL in the rear.

    255/75/17

Actually doing my 5100 lift/level today. I’m 1.75 lower front left and 1.5 lower front right with 265/79/17 tires. Was gonna go 1.1 setting but thinking of going 1.55 and hoping it settles below that.

I’m not a fan of chrome wheels anymore EXCEPT these! Had the same ones on my previous 3rd gen and I think they look great on our trucks. (Sorry for getting off topic OP)

Took me about 3 1/2 hours. I went with the 1.1 instead of the 1.5. Gained an inch upfront to put me pretty level. Sitting at 37 1/2 inches in the rear 36 1/2 in the front

You can run 265/75/16 stock height with no rubbing. Unless you have mudflaps
